I absolutely loved our dinner at Wild Sage. It is a small restaurant with a short menu, but the quality of the food rivalled big city foodie spots. They had a very extensive wine list and asked about allergies in advance.

If you like pretentiousness and an overly formal feel, then this is the place for you. The waiter, while friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu, never relaxed enough to make me feel truly welcome. It felt like a well staged show without sincerity. The presentation of the food was excellent but the taste was not much above average and definitely below par at this price point. The chef made me feel like an irritant even though this restaurant has an open kitchen that gives the appearance that the kitchen staff would be open to a quick question. They offer Waygu beef and I asked to see an uncooked filet. He quickly “corrected” me with a condescending attitude about how marbling of beef doesn’t matter. That exchange was enough to make sure that I don’t go there again. And to add a little tackiness to the end of the occasion, the server made sure to let us know that his gratuity was not built into the total.

The food and atmosphere was absolutely wonderful and I would really like to give a 5 star review! However, that was all overshadowed by just awful service from our server. He never made eye contact, rolled his eyes when I asked politely for the wifi password, and really shouldn’t work there. I would still recommend this place to anyone and everyone out there but it’s sad that one bad egg can ruin the experience!

The food was excellent. Was in a group of 20. Service seemed slow as they seemed under staffed. Our server was overworked and tired. If you’re not in a hurry, nice place to eat.
