Today was our first time there and it wouldn’t be the last. While waiting for our car to be fixed nearby, we went to Madame Matisse for an early lunch. French Onion Soup, Eggs Benedict and Croque Madame were all great. Delicious and full of flavor. We also bought a few Danish pastries to go. They were the best I’ve had since a while.

Nice folks running the place! Had a latte and a pastry. Both were excellent

We tried Madame Matisse for the first time, last weekend. The croque monsieur, the steak and the turkey sandwich were all great! The oriental chicken salad was lacking. The chocolate chai tea was delicious and so was the chocolate croissant. The other pastries were sub-par and pricey. The macaroons were probably the worst, they were very chewy tasted several days old. Our waitress was not great, we had to keep asking for water and she only came to our table twice, even though they were slow. She would just disappear the back, the lady running the counter was more attentive. Also, when we got our bill there was a bunch of random charges that would have cost us $24 extra if we hadn’t paid attention.

We used to go here often, but will never go back. We tried really hard to give this business a chance, we liked the crepes and the eggs were always cooked right, but the service has gone downhill. The server we had on more than one occasion seemed confused and would bring us the opposite of what we asked for or nothing at all, the kitchen staff was the reason we stopped going, the chef sat down at the table next to us listening to a super loud TV show on his phone while we were trying to enjoy breakfast, we told them we wouldn’t be back and they just were like ok… poor customer service, poor ambiance, I give two stars because the food is decent. They used to have better staff before pandemic so hopefully they can get it together training their staff on customer service (kitchen and wait staff) and we’d consider going back

On March 22, the owner JJ, was yelling at one of her employees in front of all the customers. I was having breakfast with my two kids and my kids kept looking at JJ. I stood up and clearly told her to lower her voice that we can clearly hear her and she said she was yelling. She raised her voice at me pointing at me also and I was not accepting that disrespect! Much less in front of my kids! i clearly told her there was a time and place to speak to her employee. She wasn’t listening. That is not a good “manager” nor having leading skills. What a disappointment!

Let me tell you. This place is amazing if you like pastries! We’ve been to many places around the Santa Fe area and to be honest most of the food was sub-par.

Oh boy where to start. Well we were in town from CO and read all the reviews thinking this place would be great. It was ok at best. The egg Benedict weren’t warm or cooked enough. They tasted like mustard and vinegar was made into a sauce and placed on top. And we still paid for them even though it was clear they weren’t good and we ordered a different entree. The crepes were good but not excellent. And they were confused when my son asked for a plan one with nothing on it and charged us $12 a crepe. Eeek! The pastries were the best along with the coffee and chai. The decorations are lacking and there wasn’t a public restroom that we could find. Blah. Needs some improvement.

Great croissants but there are no baked goods until 9:30AM even though they open much earlier.

Holy moly! We highly recommend this place – our taste buds had an incredible experience this morning. The French fries were light and crispy, the croque madame had complex flavors, eggs were cooked perfectly, and the hollandaise had the perfect amount of dill to go with the smoked salmon.
