I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’m from Chicago that I wasn’t impressed but I thought it was quite audacious of them to deny us service because we didn’t have a reservation, a restaurant in a town of less than 1200 that requires reservations. But we again tried the next evening since we were in town for the weekend and the food was great but the service was not. Took too long for drinks, salads and entrees to arrive and the incorrect item was brought on two occasions. But like I said earlier the food was not to complain about, I had the Jambalaya and it was phenomenal.

As usual food was outstanding. Excellent. That gives 5 stars. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. With only one other table to serve waitress seemed rushed and did not seem interested in providing service resulting in $10 tip instead of $40 that I have left in the past visits. Will I return? Absolutely. It is worth the 160 mile round trip drive for the exception meal made with local fresh ingredients.

My new favorite restaurant! Love this place. The food is unlike anything we’ve found in Tri-Cities — well worth the 1-hour drive. The specials offer a wonderful variation to the standard menu, but the jumbalaya is still my go-to main course. Wine choices, though not broad, feature several of our local finest. Service is pleasant & friendly and the restaurant is quaint. Because seating capacity is small at the Waitsburg location, we typically celebrate the special occasions at Whoopemup a day prior or post the actual day. I highly recommend Whoopemup for awesome & unique southern cuisine.

Great Southern comfort food, especially the Jambalaya. Wonderful specials such as Etouffe and Watermelon Gazpacho. Well worth the drive from Tri-Cities. Can’t wait to try their Walla Walla location.

Cool little place in this small town. We were a group of 15 and the gal here was extremely helpful and friendly accommodating all of us.

The absolute best cajun food in that I’ve had in Eastern Washington. Great jambalaya and gumbo. Excellent seafood. It’s a must eat if you are anywhere near Waitsburg…and worth the drive if you are in the Tri-Cities.

Quiet and hidden gem of the Pacific Northwest. Chanced upon this place on a road trip and have never found anywhere quite as endearing, satisfying, or eclectic as WHC. I am conflicted in writing this review: part of me wants to share how truly marvelous this restaurant is in the hamlet of Waitsburg, and the other part of me selfishly wants to keep it hidden and unspoiled by the masses. My own obvious bias aside, this is a true treasure of the northwest that you must visit AT LEAST once. There is no place like it.
