TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I placed my order, which was not even a large order, and I have attached a photo of my receipt for reference. It took over 18 minutes to receive my food, even though the restaurant was not very busy at the time. I am honestly disappointed, as this was simply a #1 combo order. This level of service is not acceptable, and something needs to improve. Come on, Dave’s take a long time Chicken!

I had visited this place before with my family and really enjoyed the concept of multiple spice levels. Recently, I decided to order again, but unfortunately, the chicken I received was quite salty and weird flavored compared to the last time. I tried to balance it with the coleslaw, but overall, it was disappointing. Additionally, I noticed a long hair in the salad, which was unpleasant. I usually don’t like leaving negative reviews, and I know this is a popular spot, so perhaps it was just an unfortunate experience on my end.

I recently visited this location and had an unfortunate experience. The employee who took my order, Yessenia, incorrectly entered my meal. I ordered a #2, but I was given a #4. After driving back to the restaurant to have the issue addressed, I calmly explained the mistake. Instead of receiving an apology or understanding, I was met with a defensive response: “And you just realized that now?”
I remained polite and respectful throughout the interaction. I also waited nearly an hour for one slider, while several customers who ordered after me received their food much quicker without issue.
To make matters more uncomfortable, I noticed Yessenia and her coworker laughing and looking in my direction, which felt unprofessional and discourteous. As a paying customer who clearly communicated my order and caused no disruption, I expected better service and basic courtesy.
Unfortunately, the overall experience left me feeling uncomfortable and dissatisfied. I hope management addresses these concerns to improve customer service moving forward.

I love this place so much i have been to so many Daves around CA n this is my top 3! Spice levels are on point. Mind you.. i’m a Spice Freak my spice tolerance is CRAZY. I love the Reaper! Buns and seasoning is amazingly good. Sauce is great too. Reaper flavor is not for the weak! Depends who makes it. Try at your own risk ⚠️ Or get addicted to the insane Spice like me

I made an online order. Went to go pick it up and the lady at the counter was very passive and dismissive. She didnt even acknowledge me/greet me. Just continued cleaning. Eventually she asked if I had an online order. I asked for extra sauce, she refused and said id have to pay. Ive never had to pay for a few extra sauces before. I ordered a strawberry lemonade freeze. She filled the cup up half full then pretended the machine broke and said I had to pick a different flavor. There was still freeze in the machine. I then saw her give the strawberry freeze to 2 other customers right after me.

I loved Dave’s Hot Chicken! The line was a little long when we got there but the food was delicious!! You could smell the spices when you walk in the door and the smell of the spices smacks you in the face when you open the container. I’m not much of a spicy hot food kinda person. I like a little spice but not too much. I got Mild and it was the perfect amount of spice for me! Mild had just the right balance of hot and blend of other spices.I might go up to medium if I’m feeling adventurous next time lol! If you liked it hot try hot, I’m sure it won’t disappoint!

5 Stars! From customer service when we entered the restaurant to when we received our food fresh and hot. Kale slaw was delicious on the sliders. They offer honey, ketchup, and extra sauce at no cost. We had a group, so we each ordered a different heat level. We tasted mild, medium, hot, and exta hot. All very delicious, moist, and fresh. Our fries were cooked to perfection as they were hot and crispy. The employees were helpful and down to earth. Honestly, just good vibes across the board. We will definitely be back.
They offer three combos as of (June 2022) $11.99, $13.99, and $12.99 sliders, tenders or a slider, and a tender. They also offer a few side options, fountain drinks including unsweetened, sweetened, and raspberry iced tea as well as shakes (strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate flavor). The combos do not come with a drink, which is pretty standard, just like The Habit or Five Guys. The amount of food for the price is average nowadays, so I’m not sure why people feel the need to complain. Other than drive-thru restaurants, I feel, like most places, charge for drinks separately, including the ones that advertise “make it a combo add fries and a drink for an additional fee.”
Also for those who complained that their food wasn’t fresh or their fries were soggy please keep in mind if you eat at the restaurant you will be served fresh food, but common sense equates to soggy food if you order it to go and take it home depending on how far you live and the traffic in town. They serve the food in styrofoam containers, and the condensation causes the food to become soggy. Next time, eat at the restaurant as they offer indoor and outdoor seating.
