Social Profile:

Profiled by Zagat as One of America’s perfect pizzerias. Amazing Neapolitan pizzas with both classic and original combinations, using fresh & imported ingredients. We are one of the few pizzerias in the U.S. that makes our dough the old fashioned way, using 100% natural sourdough cultures, fermented for several days. Check out Jeff Varasano’s recipe online. He has garnered international praise as the internet’s #1 authority on pizza making.

Buzzy, relaxed eatery featuring traditional sourdough thin-crust pizza, plus pasta & small plates.

I’ve eaten at all the iconic coal and wood fired pizza places in NYC (including the Grimaldi’s locations in Florida) and Washington DC. This pizza is easily as good or better than any of those. The oven uniquely simulates the coal/wood ovens that cook the pizzas in 1-2 minutes leaving a proper char on the bottom and around the edges. If you like more or less char then just let them know! The ingredients are almost all imported from Italy but the herbs are grown right on the premises. If the owner is there he might even have time to make you one of his special recipes not on the menu! It’s worth the trip to detour through Atlanta if you are traveling anywhere nearby.

I’ll get right to it: This is the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. My wife feels the same way. I lived in New York City for 53 years, and have been eating good pizza there since I grew teeth. Last month we were back in NYC for a week, and all we ate for lunch and dinner was pizza from our favorite places. We’ve had pizza in various parts of Italy. I make my own pizza at home, and I’ve been sweating those details for years now. So, it would be accurate to say that my wife and I have a fair amount of experience.

Amazing pizza and even better staff! Chef personally came out and made sure we knew about the fresh herbs growing on the patio to garnish our pizzas. Sad we just found this place and I’m moving this weekend, highly recommend!

Amazing experience! Each pizza had its own distinct and delicious taste. We had 2 pies but each pie had 4-5 different flavors so we were able to taste so many different types!! Chef and the rest of the staff were wonderful!! I even appreciated how Chef Varasano let us take pictures of the unbaked then finished product! Also appreciated how he would tell us the best way to enjoy each slice to get the most out of all the different flavors. I didn’t realize how many different flavors can come from pizza!! Definitely coming back again to go on another journey!! So worth it!!

Nice location. We must have visited this place at a bad time. The food came out warm. The soft drink (see picture) was expired and my friend and I had to request new drinks because it was flat. The owner or manager made the rounds and asked how everything tasted which is a plus but when we explained how we made the trip downtown from the suburbs based on the reviews and further explained that the food came out warm and the expired soda, he responded that we should have mentioned it earlier as he can’t do anything now that we have started eating the food. Really? You can’t? I beg to differ. Anyway, too many good places to eat outside the perimeter to revisit this place. Good luck everyone.

Varasano’s is the best pizza in Atlanta. We ordered the Nana’s with capicola and SO delicious! The garlic bites are great and the meatballs are very flavorful. The environment is super family friendly and our server, Jamal, was super friendly and made our experience that much better. We will be definitely going back on our next visit to Atlanta.

Amazing! This pizza is incredible, and you can only find this quality and craftmanship at this spot in the whole of Atlanta. As a New Yorker, and someone whol helps run the top pizza tour there, I can easily say this is fantastic pizza! We did the testing with Jeff, and it was superb, special, and unique.

This was hands down the best pizza in the city, and the BEST veggie pizza I’ve ever had. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a pizza connoisseur. I love pizza so much, I have a pizza tattoo. I’m also from Chicago so I know a thing or three about pizza.

We love trying different pizza. Varasano’s is extraordinary! Jeff is a wizzard on at the pizza oven and at the cube. The restaurant was busy on Father’s Day evening and he still took time to make our pizzas and sit and talk with us. Great service! Great atmosphere! World class owner!
