Ate lunch here and it was absolutely delicious!!! We had the appetizer, pasta, and dessert – all very YUMMMY!!!! The owners are so kind and make you feel right at home. It is a little piece of Italy right here in Raleigh. The service is stellar and all the recommendations for wine and food pairings was great. We will be back again very soon.

DO NOT GO. Mold on bread, rude owner, complete disappointment for an 85th birthday family celebration. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I made reservation for my mothers 85th birthday dinner based on coworkers recommendation. Turns out my coworker had not been there in many years. I called to make the reservation and inquired about corking fee, stating that I had a special bottle to open for my Mom’s 85th birthday. She said no problem $30 corking fee. We arrive tonight and the owner said it is $60 tonight. The printed menu shows $30 corkage fee so I guess it’s $60 just for us. Then the bread arrived with mold see photo. When I showed the owner the bread he grabbed it from me and said I was seeing things. Photos don’t lie. No apology nothing. Because we were a party of 9 including elderly it wasn’t like we could just leave at 7-7:30pm so I hoped it would get better. The dessert comes, they forget we have a birthday, nothing, no well wishes, no singing, nothing. They also don’t have a bartender so you can’t order a mixed drink only beer or wine. Ridiculous! I normally write reviews to highlight outstanding service, this was the worst service ever. The food is barely fine, nothing exceptional. Don’t waste your time and money, so many better restaurants I wish we had gone to. We thoroughly enjoy Cafe Tiramisu, Vivo, Mulino’s, Nina’s, many better options. Would never return to this place. If could give no stars I would.

I’m sad to say we were disappointed with our dinner as a whole, maybe they were just having an off night but our experience was not good. To begin with when our bread was delivered you could tell by the taste, chew, and smell that it was not fresh. However, to be completely honest these were the first two baskets our party of 12 were served, after having to ask for additional bread the next two baskets came out warm and fresh. The next issues was with the Lobster bisque. Three members of our group ordered this and none of the three bowls had a single piece of Lobster in them and what was served was very runny and lacking in flavor. One of the members of our group ordered the stuffed mushroom, and described the taste as medicine like and could not eat what was served. Three of the members of our group had sweet tea with their meal and each one agreed it was good but none of them was ever offered a refill. The pasta dishes and salads that were served were good, not amazing, and the portions did not equal up to the cost. All in all not a very good experience for our group, but again I do understand this could have been an off night for the restaurant.

My wife called 5 restaurants to try to make reservation for 18 people for my son’s graduation party. Not one restaurant wanted to take our business. Then she called this place, talked to a person with a heavy Italian english accent, what she later figured out was the owner. She loved his demeanor and his willingness to accommodate our family. When we arrived at the restaurant, we met the person who made us the reservation. Turned out he was the owner. What a beautiful soul. He was so friendly and accommodating.

Food is good. Atmosphere is ok. I was surprised they added a supplemental fee for using a credit card. First time I’ve encountered this. If you want good, basic Italian food without the “bells and whistles”, this is a good place to try. Just be prepared to pay extra if you’re using your credit card.

Overall, the food was fresh, the serving sizes were perfect and the main course was tasty. My family cannot stop talking about how good their actual dinner entrees were. The prices are reasonable too. However we did not care for the appetizer, mozzarella on bread with roasted pepers. I personally did not like the dipping oil. These two items had no flavor.

Nice dating atmosphere. The food was good, not great! But worth what was charged. We only had 5 people and they put in the tip for us. Not sure if it was because we were the only blacks in there or not. But the service was definitely sup par, and they have a bar but no bartender!
