To be honest I was debating on trying out there food because of the reviews. Everyone have different opinions. So I decided to test the waters. I like the set-up when I walked in. First time ordering here and trust it will be my last! Chicken and Salmon is either a day or two old, or someone doesn’t know how to cook! And why oh why does your Mac and cheese taste spoiled/sour!!!! Everything on my plate was not good. You would think that you ordered when they first open, everything will be hot and fresh! I’m exhausted from waiting so long for my food. The time wait is extremely long and they don’t seem very organized. Their are 2 old ladies who take the orders and they move extremely slow and still get the orders wrong. They need new staff and they need to be more attentive to their customers. And I order the same jerk chicken dinner the same way and some how they charge me different prices each time. So I recommend they move faster, hire more staff and be consistent with prices

I don’t usually eat jerk because ive never found a good jerk restaurant. But I had a rare taste for it and decided to try this place. The food was absolutely delicious. Best jerk chicken I have ever had. The Mac and cheese and candied yams did not disappoint. I’m picky and don’t normally eat these foods unless I cook them myself. I’ve never had Mac and cheese out in the streets this good. I will definitely be a frequent visitor of Tropic Island.

The food lack season. It was very bland. The jerk sauce was very watery. I ordered salmon not season well. I also order catfish which was pretty good. The vegetables, cabbage, green bean and mac had no season. The sweet potatoes were great.

New to the neighborhood, saw the place so I figured I would check it out. The order took longer than expected, cool! In the end my Mac and cheese was expired, the red beans and rice was cold and a chicken nail was in my tacos!!! Yes!!! Now, after I noticed the Mac and cheese was old, I still ate the red beans and rice then I figured the tacos were good so I’ll finish that but after I felt the nail hit the top of my mouth I was done. I had to FaceTime my friends to see this. I couldn’t believe it.

This is my 2nd time ordering…the person on phone is clearly short of patience. I called in at 5:13, was told it was a 25 minute wait. Got there at 5:44 and waited another 40 minutes. Not going back!

I think I’m officially DONE with this this place the service is sloppy and super slow. This the 2nd time my order has been messed up the 1st time I think Stacy was her name corrected my meal. Today 4/1/23 I went and got a veggie platter $14 bucks for me to not have gotten any meat they act like they were scared to put some sides on there. Then a young boy made me wait 10 minutes while he boxed up 5 other orders to take to back to get meat put on the trays(I was the only person in there at the time) but yet I’m still waiting just to get sides that’s already been put in the container. After saying something I finally get my order I go home and the Mac & cheese tasted old been sitting out for awhile and tasted burned. I called and this older lady said oh I just tasted it and it’s not burnt is a flat out lie, and told me you can come back and get a small side. So instead of comping my whole meal, you want inconvenience me to waste my gas and come back for 1 side. Man this place is a joke find somewhere else to go.
