The food was very good and large portions and the service was fantastic. Shout out to my server, Ashlee. Very worthwhile for a very enjoyable dinner.

Service was slow. Menu is more expensive than other places for similar food. Seating is a bit cramped. Food is really good and fresh. I would go here again, but not with a large group. It was also very warm inside and water was only refilled once and never with more ice.

I was thinking about the old time Mexican restaurants and how different all the new Mexican restaurants are compared to when I was a kid. I have driven by Tortilla Flats 100 times and have never tried it. I am so glad I did! I had an enchilada and a tostada chips and sauce and a Coke. It brought me back to my childhood, it tasted like original great Mexican restaurants in Kansas City. I highly recommend, I’m going to go back.

So, we will come back and try again. Fish is not the easiest thing to make in a kitchen with a four page menu, but we went on fish night. My partner ordered the fish tacos. They were very dry and overcooked. We will not be ordering the fish. I got the Baja chicken, which had no indication that it was a sandwich with cheese and a bun. So much cheese. Some of it was cold. The margaritas were pretty good but nothing special, especially not at the usual price points. The most jarring part of the experience, though, was watching the staff. The young man who waited on us was clearly not trained. Of the five servers I saw working, maybe two of them looked like they understood what was going on. They often bumped into each other, went to get another’s attention for the wrong servers table, and looked around the restaurant confused. for a not very busy night, the five of them made a point to /seem/ busy, without any sort of adherence to an arbitrary system of checking on tables, picking up orders, and seating guests. A waitress that was not ours brought a dish of dressing for the fish tacos and set it precariously on the edge of the table. It fell and got all over my boyfriend’s legs. I had to flag down three servers that weren’t mine to get some extra napkins. Bizarre experience. We will be back, just because I’m certain it was a combination of inexperience and bad luck as well as a bad choice on our part.

Prices have gone up. But I don’t mind that. They need to pay folks, and prices are up everywhere. It just means I can’t enjoy the experience as often. My waitress was very good. My food was delicious. The portions were generous. I somewhat wish that during this economy, folks would offer smaller portions so they could still make $, but I could afford to go more often. If I could finish my food, they could save on takeaway containers, and I could eat there more frequently. Leftovers are fine but not as good as fresh food. They wouldn’t need to change the menu. Just offer Xerox copies of choices for smaller appetites. If I could buy half of the $11 lunch I had today for $8. I would have.

The service is outstanding. Tried the enchilada lasagna. It was ok but no flavor. The fried tacos were bland. The rice was dry and crunchy. Get some spices and you might be in business. The soupy beans were just beans cooked with salt and pepper. I wouldn’t waste my time on this poor quality.

I’m not sure what has happened to this place? We used to like going here for the small personalized atmosphere. The last 2 times we went, the service was horrible. It was like they wanted to hang out and cater to their own family members at the bar rather than make their customers feel like they were wanted there. They even took their operating hours off the door. We walked in with an unlocked door at 8:35pm when most places were open till 9pm-10pm and were told they were closed! I hope this plea will find the owners and they make some changes or will find themselves without customers and a flourishing business soon!

Casual Cuisine, what a great place for a TGIF Margarita! If you are looking for “fine dining” in a suit, you’ve come to the wrong place. If you are looking for Hot Food Fast, you’ve found it. I walked in, asked if I could be served at the bar, and was taken care of immediately. I sat down, watched my margarita being made, ordered 2-spinach pepper jack enchiladas — chips came moments after the margarita. Server asked if I liked my drink, it was perfect, and my food came within 5-minutes (if even) of placing my order. The vibe is “pop-Latino” — music is in Spanish, but pop-style made me feel like dancing. It’s not overly crowded, but enough of a lunch crowd you feel that “Friday Vibe”. My food was fantastic — watching my figure so the generous portions of spinach in the enchiladas are appreciated — 2-thumbs up! Patron Margarita with Grand Marnier, 2-enchiladas a la carte, home made salsa, and a bowl of chips as big as Texas = $15.13, reasonable for the quality, I will be back. The server checked on me as I finished my plate, cleared it away, asked if I liked the food, offered “anything else”, politely left my tab — her timing and demeanor were spot on. Not overly friendly, but professional and polite all the way. It looked like she was the only server and bar tender. She wasn’t “overworked”, but kept busy. Great place for a quick bite! Idk, the brass horse heads at the bar really did it for me, lol — FUN!

The food was great as usual but far too much for one meal. It would have been better if music was not was the radio station that was on but something related to the restaurant.
