I was in Jackson overnight, so I decided to have dinner here…it was close to my hotel room and had some pretty good looking items on the menu….it’s was not crowded at the time I went…I was solo so I sat at the bar and the bartender was really sweet and my drinks were on point. My food came out in a reasonable time…I had the fish platter with gumbo and fries…fish was fried hard like I like it…fries were fresh…I didn’t really get into the gumbo because I got full from those two big pieces of fish…the ambience was nice…a game playing on the tv…bathroom was clean. I saved it in my favorites for whenever I come back to town!

I always have a nice time anytime I’m here no matter who I’m with. My biggest take back would be every-time I look up for anther beer the bartender is no where in sight so I wait. But other than that the food is good and the vibe is nice rather your on the inside or out side. The outside area isn’t aesthetically pleasing anymore. They also have a game area that’s open most days I enjoy that area as well….

We went to the Bulldog and had food and two rounds of drinks. We sat at the bar. When the server disappeared after our second round of drinks, and our food was finished and the dirty dish was sitting on the bar, we waited for either of the female servers at the bar to return. We were ready to leave and ready to pay our bill. No one came for 15 minutes. My boyfriend finally had to chase down the server at the end of the bar. Both female servers were playing with their personal phones and not paying any attention whatsoever to the bar, the clientele, or the needs of customers. We certainly could have walked out without paying. But of course, we did not. Absolutely terrible service. I hope the manager will review this post and speak to the two women on this shift. We were there at 9ish pm on August 22nd, 2023. Will not return.

First time experience was HORRIBLE, the place wasn’t even packed. I observed every waiter and customer experiences. A few people walked out as I observed the attitudes of the waiters. Giving the business the benefit of a doubt, it was now our turn. The appetizer was egg rolls and nachos, HORRIBLE. The egg rolls wasn’t even hot, seems as if they were just dropped in the grease and taken out. The nachos were just thrown together and seemed as if they had been sitting due to the sogginess of the chips and the cheese was matted together without any heat to them. The shrimp on the nachos WERE RAWWW, I alerted the waiter because at this point it’s unacceptable. She looked at me crazy and walked off with an attitude as we requested the manager. She literally brought the remaining of our order and said “we’re waiting on fries”. RAW SHRIMP, SHREDDED CHEESE ON A HAMBURGER, RAW BACON the list continue. Pics attached for the truth, I can’t make this up!!!

It’s weird how different each bulldog is. I’ve been to the one in Nola, which has tons of beer, but the kitchen is separate. This one feels different from the one in Madison that I’ve been to a few times although it’s been a long time. Stopped here on the way back to the coast after a family function in the area. Playoffs were on so it was packed and squeezed in at the bar. Service was a little slow at first but was able to get an order in before the kitchen closed. Had a couple of beers and a burger. Didn’t really come for a night out, just a pitstop at one of the only non fast food places open at the time. Looks like the place to watch a game or be out and be seen though.

I’ll write this review as I sit here STILL waiting for food, who knows if I I’ll get to review the quality. This is my second time eating here and it seems the service hasn’t improved. I have been waiting for my food for 30 minutes. I’d understand if they were slammed, but I’m THE ONLY PERSON HERE! How this place stays open is mind boggling… I will not come back for a “three times the charm” moment.
