Ordered take out. The combination was pretty good, but seemed like the portion was a little small for the money.

I really enjoyed the table service and the waitress was attentive and delightful. Open space dining, bar area, and outdoor patio. They make the chips and salsa daily and I had 2 fish tacos with rice and beans. Fresh and tasty with generous portions. I couldn’t eat it all lol. The prices are very good even comparable to drive thru joints and chipotle but this is dine in restaurant quality.

Wait staff today was very attentive and friendly. We had just come from canyon lake and were ready for happy hour. Ordered chimi, quesidilla, and tacos. All came prepared perfectly and seasoned superbly. Nice choice after a sweaty day.

Great food and amazing margaritas! They were very busy but still made sure to get drinks out right away. The menu has many different options than you see at most Mexican restaurants. Will be back.

Better than I remembered as far as flavor. I ordered a spicier salsa and the chef took it as a challenge sending out a ramekin of hacked up habanero and some other grilled pepper. I appreciated it because when I say “something spicier” that’s what I mean. Warning to others that may just want it a bit spicier, say that. I gave 5 stars for service for one reason only, and that was the hostess. She was the busiest person in the whole place. She was greeting, seating, setting up to go, handing out to go, and in between, as if there were an in between on a Friday night, she bussed tables. The server was ok, pleasant enough, but the hostess Genevieve saved the day on multiple occasions! Thank you, Genevieve! The “Grande” nachos came out pretty but y’all there were exactly 12 chips on that plate! You can count them in the picture. The saving grace being that there was stuff on every chip.

Got the fajitas, and the steak meat tasted like roadkill. I don’t know if they cooked it wrong of if it was literally spoiled. It’s texture was off, the taste was bland and over cooked. While the staff was nice, I’ll never go back to On The Boarder when desperate for a convenient meal.

Started off good server was knowledgeable about dairy products. The drinks came in plastic cups I asked if I was happy about I said no and the just shrugged her shoulder and walked away. I odered the Fiesta salad, it was just a plate of shredded lettuce a few toppings sprinkled on top with a #24 scoop of beef on top. My daughter in law ordered a Fiesta bowl and it was the same it looks better in the photos until you get into it. Haven’t been here in a few years and now I remember why. It has not gotten better. Sadly it was a special lunch and it was a bad experience

IMO the chips and salsa have always been the best thing about OTB. Rice and tortillas are mediocre, however the grilled chicken is great and makes for some awesome Fajitas!

On the Border is a chain tex-mex restaurant that highlights the bar but has a good restaurant with decent food selections. The place is large with lots of seating. The staff is good. And the prices are reasonable for the large portions on the dishes.

Normally come in to eat once a week went today for Taco Tuesday they were busy but not slammed. We waited 15 minutes to get chips and have anyone acknowledge we were even there. The manager kept cleaning tables and ignoring people waiting to be seated. I watched 6 people walk out. Not too impressed anymore. Hardest worker is Martino but he wasn’t there.
