Came here as a recommendation from someone working in the touristy part of Salem and I am so glad we did! The reviews saying there is a communication barrier are true, but don’t let that scare you away. Friendly staff, just walk up to the food area if you want food and point at which items look good. We ended up with a huge plate of rice, beans, and some sort of beef dish for less than $15, it was enough for 2 people! Great food and great experience.

The Rice and meat was Great but ordered the mofongo Definitely not what i expected it wasn’t good at all and the servers only spoke Spanish i dont feel as if the customer service was great. we didn’t even get greeted when we enter so i was confused on how the place was ran.

This is literally like the worst place in the world. They turn into a nightclub at night they play music so loud that the apartment building rattles and they don’t care about the kids that live in the building. To be honest I don’t even think that they actually cook food it’s literally they serve liquor and they play the same music over and over again. Used to be a fantastic Dominican place named Celia’s where you’d order at the counter, which I think is all the previous reviews are for. But now it’s a different name and different set up inside, but appears to have just changed. I stopped by on a Sunday hoping to get some Celia’s that I have missed so much since moving out of the area, but instead found this restaurant was very different – bar seating, no more cafeteria style, very loud DJ playing for a Sunday afternoon. Sadly can’t speak to the food or anything else at the new place but wanted to at least leave a review that this is not the same as Celia’s!

This was probably the best place we ate at during our entire stay. It is truly a hidden gem, with gigantic portions of true Dominican cuisine. A little farther away from the town but definitely worth the trip.

Boy has this place went downhill since 2019! I used to eat here twice a day in 2019. Came back today and its setup like a bar now. The food istn slow cooked all day anymore, its mostly made to order now. They have no paper menus and it was really hard to order my food. It also doesnt taste the same anymore now thats its cooked differently. I probably won’t be coming back. Also if you dont know spanish, I wouldnt bother because y9ou will have no idea what to order as a new customer.

The Halloween crowds finally pushed me to give Celia’s a try, and I’m so glad I did. It’s an amazing amount of food for the price, and the guy at the counter made me a sampler plate so I could decide what I wanted. Rice & Beans, goat stew, delicious meatballs, and veggies for under $10. Yum!

My girlfriend just moved to the area and we googled Spanish food and fell upon this little spot. Didnt have much but went above and beyond to supply the demand. I dont like fish but their fried fish soooo good! The wait staff makes this place get 5⭐. I will definitely e back for 2nds and 3rds!

Food has a good flavor I am not going to lie, but cold. The minute I got in I was ignore, i was trying to talk to someone and they walked the other way. The lady wasn’t friendly, she asked us what we wanted after several attempts I made to order food. the guy didn’t even looked at us. The only time he interacted with me is when I paid and it was because the lady told him to charge me (even tho I was right there standing right in front of him). I signed and he looked to see if I tipped them (which I didn’t, terrible service). There was a lady and a guy that walked in minutes later and they seemed very friendly.
