George’s is simply superb. The food is phenomenal and lovingly prepared. We have paid much more for meals that were not nearly this elite. The grilled trout can be upgraded for a small upcharge to include a very generous topping of crab and side dishes (as you can see in the photo). The charcuterie is huge and inventive with everything from high-quality mortadella to fresh honeycomb. The beet salad was fantastic and actually included a generous portion of beets, not the paper-thin slices some restaurants offer and then overcharge. We didn’t even make it to the fantastic pasta menu or the HRW offerings. Buttermilk ice cream…how good does that sound when it’s 100 degrees? George’s has a full bar and a huge covered patio that sits on the east side of the restaurant, meaning it never sees the worst afternoon heat. Plenty of easy parking. Fantastic service from Nicholas and his ninja-like reflexes when we were clumsy. A new favorite!

Unfortunately it was listed as number 1 under Houston Mediterranean restaurants. However this is anything but; it seem to be geared for breakfast/ brunch with a slight Italian style. Perhaps that is what got it listed into the Mediterranean area? Extensive wine listing, some beers in bottles.

We tried George’s supporting Houston Restaurant Week and the Houston Food Bank. We enjoyed the Three humus flat bread and suppli for starters. For mains the chicken biscuit and the breakfast pizza. Food was delicious and service attentive. Can’t wait to try out the porch in cooler weather.

The goat cheese beet mouse salad was very tasty. The gluten free pizza had delicious and high quality ingredients that my boyfriend declared his favorite mushroom pizza even though he doesn’t like gluten free crust. The soup of the day was a chicken tortilla soup that was flavorful but too much salt. I couldn’t have more than a few mouthfuls of it. We are definitely coming back for more pizza and we are going to try the glutenful pizza!

Disappointing first time. I ordered to go because I wasn’t sure how busy it was going to be during lunch. There were only about 5 tables taken when I showed up.

My family decided to brunch here on a Saturday. The place wasn’t very busy but we were there around 10:50am. They have a vast option of brunch items. Everything was so good. We had the suppli and a roasted beet salad to start. Those were followed up with smoked salmon nicoise, egg white omelet, cotton candy French toast, breakfast pizza, crab avocado toast, bacon, biscuit, and eggs. The timing of some food items was off but it was fine. The service was decent.

3/11/23 UPDATE: Walked in at 2:40 and the waitress said it was too late for brunch which ended at 3:00 and only one person was in the restaurant and it was only me. She is the same waitress who when I told her there was no lobster in my lobster bisque and she replied she forgot to ask me if I wanted to add lobster :-/

Stopped by for a Sunday morning brunch. The environment and decoration are cozy and the outdoor/patio seating looked lovely as well. We had ordered the ‘Cotton Candy Crunch French Toast’ and the presentation was amazing, definitely one the kids would enjoy. It was such a treat to eat and was surprisingly not too sweet. If savory is more of your preferred brunch item then I recommend the ‘Steak and Eggs.’ The steak was cooked to preference, the taste of seasoning was lovely and not overpowering so you could still taste the meat. It is definitely seasoned on the saltier side though. I enjoyed the side of tortilla chips that came with the steak but finished those before I could finish the beans and guacamole. I definitely think it a great place to catch up with friends, plus they have an extensive drink menu if that is what you are looking for!
