Now you know I have to be honest. I enjoyed the flavors in skirt steak paella dish but I have to admit it was a thin layer of rice covering the pan and a bit oily for me but I enjoyed the steak it was cooked to perfection I also ordered the Iberico ham croquettes although the had flavor it was tooo mushy to my liking I would much rather larger pieces of the ham, didn’t really get to taste it. The sauce gave a olive oil garlic aioli vibe ehh. Ordered a margarita and a mojito for the looks.I would usually ask for less sour mix but hey ♀️Last but certainly not least (because I will be back for those churros) the churros were the best aside from the steak. They were so soft and sugary and warm with the chocolate just melting in your mouth I will most certainly dine here again. The customer service was A1!! Sara was awesome very patient and Knowledgeable making sure everything was up to par. Big part of dining is customer service as well and she rocked it!

Amazing experience food is amazing. Try the gambas a must try! So many fresh ingredients can definitely taste the difference compared to other Spanish restaurants around the area. Paella’s are delicious! Flan is so unique and different than anything I’ve ever had before.

The food here is absolutely amazing. Having traveled to Spain frequently, I can confidently say that the flavors and authenticity of the dishes transported me back to the streets of Spain. The restaurant’s attention to detail in recreating traditional tapas is commendable. A delightful experience that I can’t wait to relive!

I had the amazing experience of dining at DeTAPAS in Westport and highly recommend this restaurant for authentic tapa-style Spanish food. I have eaten Spanish food in Spain, and restaurants in Miami, and this restaurant is right on par. Try the jamon iberico. The jam is juicy and melts in your mouth. I highly recommend the meatballs. The sauce, along with the pears, gives them a unique taste. And try the croquetas (excellent), paella, and the brie flan (it’s not like any other flan). You will thank me. And obviously, try the wines from Spain. I had a red Rioja, and it paired well with everything. The owner, Carlos, gave excellent recommendations. He was friendly, attentive, and awesome! Go to DeTapas! You will love it and want to return.

This restaurant fell short of delivering an authentic Spanish Tapas experience. Despite our extensive travels throughout Spain, my husband and I found that this place couldn’t even compare to the worst bars there. The simplest dishes were disappointing, like the overly salty and burnt patatas bravas masked with red tomato sauce. The chorizo arrived on a plate with overcooked potatoes, and the chorizo itself was overly salty and in a very small portion. The accompanying pan con tomate lacked flavor and was just tomato mush. The sangria was weak and tasted more like diet coke than alcohol. Although the venue was beautiful and the service was excellent, the food was a major letdown. For an authentic experience and more affordable options, consider DeEspana in Soho NYC or Spanish Pavilion in Harrison, NJ. Alternatively, my recommendation would be to simply visit Spain for an authentic experience.

My boyfriend and I have always wanted to try authentic Spanish cuisine, so last night we made a visit to DeTapas! I believe this was a perfect place to start – the menu wasn’t overwhelming and had some fantastic options to choose from. We sat at a high top next to the open kitchen and bar, where we enjoyed watching the food be prepared. Our drinks were gorgeous, particular the La Mar made with blue curaçao. The meat and cheese boards we ordered were simply amazing. I could eat both all day long, especially the Iberian ham. The aioli in the patatas bravas was delicious, and the potatoes were perfectly crisped. Out of everything, we were most excited to try paella for the first time! We chose the steak since I’m not a huge seafood eater, and it was definitely tasty. The portion size was good for the two of us, though I did expect just a little more steak. Our dessert with toasted meringue, marmalade, and a flakey cookie was super unique and a perfect end to the meal. DeTapas is a beautiful space, and we really enjoyed dining here last night. The staff was super friendly and attentive, and I hope to come back soon and try more dishes!

This is the best restaurant in southern Connecticut. Period. Carlos is a brilliant restauranteur with a mind for detail. He’s hired the best chefs in the business. This is the best Spanish food that I have had outside of Barcelona. Try it one time and I promise you’ll become a regular. Must try:
