Unfortunately, my 2 eggs over medium, with sausage, was much too salty. My partner loved her Irish Benedict (see pic). The service was pleasant and un-rushed. The location and atmosphere is quintessential Portsmouth and hard to beat among the cozy breakfast nooks downtown.

Cute little breakfast spot downtown. Reuben Omelette was yummy & filling! Sourdough bread came buttered & fresh, home fries were nicely seasoned & the dressing brought it all together! Thanks guys!

First time in Portsmouth and we couldn’t have chosen a better place for breakfast. The staff at Colby’s is very friendly and efficient. They run the small indoor and outdoor space well. The corned beef was right up my alley with a little crisp on it. The breakfast burrito was loaded with fluffy eggs and fresh to the core. We enjoyed the Halloween decor as well. Eating here made our walk through town after even better. Thanks for the food and hospitality!

Delicious!!! I had the Eggs Irish, and my wife had the Downeast special with pancakes, and the pancakes were amazing! We will definitely be back!

This is a must go to!!! The French toast was incredible, even better knowing it’s homemade bread!!! Cute little place that always has a wait on the weekends!!! Never a bad meal and the waitstaff has always been amazing!

What a delightful breakfast experience! Jeremy was the master of ceremonies. He greeted us with a smile and quick wit that could’ve powered the entire restaurant. A place that understands that bathrooms do not need labels! A man who now knows his right from his left by the tattoo on each hand!

Food was great, service was good even though they were super busy! Cute lil place with both indoor and outdoor tables.

The food is excellent but their wait policy sucks. There is always a 30 minute wait no matter what and you can’t call ahead. You have to show up and stand outside for 30+ minutes even in the rain because they don’t have a space inside for people to wait. They really need to let people put their names in over the phone.

I visited years ago when the cafe/restaurant was under a different name. I thought it was great then, it’s great now! I read about the place in the online magazine “Only In Your State” and I added Colby’s to my immediate bucket list.
