Social Profile:

The site of the Club 400 was first established in 1894 as the Northwestern Hotel. The site later operated as a boarding house, cigar store, and soda shop. In 1948 George and Ralph Polsfuss, the father and brother of Waukesha guitar pioneer Les Paul, opened the nightclub Club 400 after major renovations. The Club itself is named after the Chicago Northwestern Locomotive #400 which used to stop across the street around 4:00pm daily. Les Paul performed at The Club 400 back in the 1940’s and 50’s. Today, Club 400 is known for great wings and burgers. It’s a friendly local tavern and a great place to grab a drink and take a break.

Here during March Madness. Great service at the bar by both male bartenders. Fun atmosphere. College crowd started coming in around 10:30pm (no complaints as I came here as a college student as well). Club 400 has been great for 20 years and I hope it continues!!

Had a few drinks, and that was good. Ordered food to go, rather disappointed in the portion size for sides & appetizers. Food did taste good but shouldn’t still be hungry after eating.

We were in town for geocaching and it was difficult to find a place with outside dining that wasn’t being used. Came across this place and decided to give it a try because of the Les Paul history. Got seated and waitress took our orders. I will admit. Had I remember there was a packer game on today I most likely would not have eaten here. Was a little loud. Waitress was nice and came out and gave us a raffle ticket for end of game and we politely declined since we wouldn’t be staying for the game. She was pretty busy since she was the only one working behind the bar, but she still checked on us periodically. And the cook brought us our food and also checked on us in the middle of our meal. Despite that this may not have been my type of “atmosphere “ they still impressed us with their hospitality and professionalism. Might have to try it again when there is no game on.

Club 400 is my go to spot. Love the staff and the food. Stopped in for wings and a burger tonight and couldn’t have been happier. The wings were phenomenal and the burger was one of the best Ive had. Fresh tomato crispy fresh lettuce perfectly melted cheese and a buttered bun to die for.

Cute place! Bloody mary was super spicy though. Slight disappointment because it was from a mix. No choice of spiciness or and tomato juice to water down. Couldn’t drink it
