The food here is wonderful! They have a good variety of both soups, sandwiches, pizza and pastries. They have an assortment of breads foe purchase as well which is nice. The prices are fair and the service has always been friendly. My only comment for improvement would be better cleaning services in the sitting areas. Usually the booths are dirty and I’ve ended up on multiple occasions cleaning my own space in order to get a seat.

I don’t have any expectations for this place. But this restaurant actually impressed me. My husband and I love SF sourdough, and this is the place to go. I ordered a Cali Vegi sandwich and my husband had a broccoli & cheddar bread bowl soup and French Dip. We both loved our food, especially the bread! My husband’s soup is very nice but the French Dip was so so because the bread took over too much flavor. We also took a dinner roll back home, it was so good!

Amazing sandwiches and soups as well as a lot of salad options. The best bang for your buck would be the “Pick a Pair” deal for $12. This comes with two halves of any applicable item.

Had lunch here on a Thursday and it was very busy (had to stand in line for 5+ minutes to order), however, an employee quickly cleared a table for us to sit and we enjoyed a delicious lunch. Photos: rustic tomato soup in a bread bowl, butternut squash soup in a bread bowl, grilled cheese sandwich with a side salad.

I love the fresh bread!! Make sure to sign up for the rewards program, you get a free monthly bread. The grilled cheese with bacon, turkey and avocado and chicken Cesar salad are delicious. Food is always fresh. Don’t forget the peanut butter and snickerdoodle cookies!!! Delicious. Unfortunately, the customer service is below average. There are long lines with minimum cashiers and food prepares, very understaffed. Order online if possible. Portions are average.

No tables available, all of them have left overs, slow service and customers claiming their orders are wrong… not good!

The food here is good and of course, the sourdough is the best. I rarely have found a sourdough that can top Boudin. The customer service was above and beyond the day my wife and I went. The two young men at the front went above and beyond to help us and clarify any questions we had. Highly recommend.

There’s supposed to be au jus in my order, it’s not there. I picked up my order 15 minutes after it was supposed to be ready and that was also a nightmare. They’re using the order pick up shelves for storage and staff looked at me but didn’t offer to help. I’m sorry I gave any tip at all.

My family loves a good bowl of New England clam chowder. I was bragging to my adult kids that Boudin on Balboa Ave. has the best NECC in San Diego. My wife and I regularly enjoy lunch there. Well, today I took my son and daughter there for dinner since we were in the area bragging about how good the NECC is. Unfortunately, it was a great disappointment. The soup had taste (as in saltiness), not flavor, and the liquid was more gelatinous than its usual creaminess. I think the cooks stretched out there existing pot of soup by adding more water, salt and corn starch or flour slurry. I hope this was a one-off experience and they get back to their high standard of quality.

If I could add more stars, I would. I called 14 minutes before closing, arrived 4 minutes before closing, was treated very well while I was there, and was out only 2 minutes after closing. Very apologetic for the stock they were almost out of, even when they didn’t need to be. Nicest staff I’ve ever seen in a restaurant, by far
