The cocktails were exceptional. The food was outstanding. It may have been the best salad and chicken I’ve ever eaten. We will keep them in our rotation!

The manager at Hawthorne & Wood recommended their sister restaurant and we knew we were in for a treat. What we didn’t expect was the epic dining experience to follow. Service was nothing short of exceptional and the maestros at the bar made great cocktails that seemed to come instantly. Food choices were unique, delicious and authentic as was their epic wine list. What a great spot.

Wonderful dinner. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. We made a reservation just in case but it was early midweek so it might not have been necessary- but they were busy when we left. The cheese plate appetizer was perfect. And then the salad was large enough to share. Our entrees were delicious and we even splurged on their amazing crème brûlée. It was a great evening. Definitely want to return.

This place is outstanding. First and foremost shoutout to Mike who is either the manager or one hell of a host. He made sure my family had a great experience. Watching him work the room making sure each guest was taken care of honestly blew my mind. One of the chefs Andrew, he is a freaking artist with the food. If I knew each cooks name back there I would give all a thumbs up . If you’re looking for authentic French food try not to walk to this place. Run and grab a seat and enjoy the ride. From the wine all the way down to the frites.

I had the BEST time at bluebird. The food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance was amazing. The bread and butter was complimentary and was a perfect start to the meal. We also ordered the cheese plate which came with three cheeses, pickles, a mustard spread and some toast. It was a great combination of different textures and tastes. We also ordered the seared shrimp which was super refreshing. The sauce was delicate and summery and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. For entrees, I got the trout. The butter sauce on this dish was impeccable and the fresh vegetables were delicious. It was refreshing and light. My boyfriend ordered the pork chop and it was HUGE. It was perfectly cooked and the gnocchi side was to die for. The service was also incredible and the managers took the time to talk to us, gave us as much bread as we wanted and even offered to take our picture. Mike, the manager, made us feel welcomed and right at home. Overall, an amazing experience and now one of my favorite restaurants in Chapel Hill. A MUST visit. Bluebird, WE LOVE YOU!!!

Had a lovely evening at Bluebird! We had the lamb and the duck for mains. Both were incredibly prepared- the most tender meat finished with a crispy seared edge that enhanced the mouthfeel of the dish. Both had sides of perfection. The greens with the lamb provided a bitter balance to the rich fatty meat, and the polenta was an excellent smooth starch contrast. Would love the polenta for brunch! The duck was impeccably prepared and a perfect portion size. The root veggie mix was complimented with bits of crisp apple, offering both a crunchy yet tender mix of fruit and veggie combo. We of course couldn’t pass on dessert so we enjoyed a crème brûlée and a chocolate mousse. Crème brûlée is simply fun to eat, little tap to crack the golden top and the warm rich custard below was heavenly. The chocolate mousse had a shaved salt and nut dusting that was increeeeddddible, paired with a cup of hot coffee, the desserts completed our meal beautifully.
