A cheeky owner. He don’t give a damn. But other than it needs a good scrub I’d say fine dining. Bring some money you need it. But nowhere else will you get actual world class food made by a Italian born chef. Remarkable place we loved it.

A hidden gem in Ottawa Il.. The gnocchi I had was terrific. My wife had the portabella ravioli, that did not look that great but tasted heavenly. The drinks were what I would call a good pour. We will be back, a true Italian ristorante.

The food was good and nice atmosphere but a bit pricey! First time in 30 years of being married, that we’ve been charged extra for the salad dressing for our salad that came with our dinner! Also when we needed iced tea refills, we were informed that it’s 2.00 charge! That’s a first and we dine out a lot! Should be printed on the menu that you charge extra for both.

To those families who are looking for a restaurant for the whole family, please be advised that children’s pasta will run you $18, yes, 18 American dollars for a plate of pasta with a bit of Alfredo sauce. I spoke to the owner and he said there was nothing he could do about the price. Really? As the owner he can’t adjust prices for children? There were no prices on the menu and the waitress said she could ask the kitchen. We enjoyed the food, but it should not cost $36 to feed two children under 10 years of age. The owner was rude and disrespectful. Will never return.

So glad my boss recommended this fabulous restaurant. Nice ambiance, fantastic food! The fish soup was an amazing combination of sea food with an exotic blend of spices. They had several home made salad dressings to choose from. Great polenta and mushroom app. The sea bass was to die for, hands down! Cooked to perfection, topped with a wonderful tomato sauce and served with delicious sides. Rosemary potatoes, ratatouille, and lentils were my favorites. I would highly recommend Alberto’s to anyone looking for a great place to dine. Best in the area!
