At Yasu, we use premium fish shipped from Japan. Fish caught around the tiny island of Japan are some of the best in the world. Centuries of rich sushi history have cultivated an expertise in fishing – specifically for sushi – by the local fishermen. Yasu pays homage to the edomae sushi roots to showcase the beauty of simplicity by using classical methods to draw out the umami of fish. Our roots, methodology, and determin

This place was amazing from start to finish. This place is an EXPERIENCE and the pace of food was just right for me and my friend (we weren’t starving in between). The omakase we had was phenomenal and well put together. Every piece was so delicious and the chef (didn’t get his name ) was SO friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Our server checked on us often and was also very kind! Will definitely come back soon!

If you are looking for an authentic Japanese dinner experience definitely come here. Every dish was perfect and you could taste the quality of the fish. The entire experience took around 2 1/2 hours, so bring some time to enjoy your omakase.

My first Omakase experience, overall very positive. Chances are, if you’re like me and have mostly eaten at the many I will say average for lack of a better word Sushi restaurants all over LA, you probably have never eaten not only the type of fish on offer here but also the quality is on another level.

intimate omakase experience. a bit slow (they served each course to the whole restaurant at the same time) so don’t come too hungry. gluten free friendly (they replaced two courses and used tamari).

We came to Yasu for hubby 31st bday and I have to say this was one of the best place I ever been to. The service was amazing(we came on 6/11 forgot our server name) he was genuine and kind when he spoke to us and the food was to die for. Hubby and I ate so many sushi places that we lost count, but Yasu will be forever be in our heart. We spent 2 hours here with grace with good food and great people around us. Until next time!!!! Peace

The food was good, but it wasn’t quite the Omakase experience with $250, including everything. I didn’t feel that food was tailored to me. The only question that they asked me was, “Are you allergic to anything?” Everyone in the restaurant was given the exact same food. They were mostly all nigiri sushi except 4. A total of 17 set pieces (course) were offered. When a customer did not want what was offered, rather than tailoring to the customer and asking what they would like, the chef simply skipped it and only gave 16 pieces.

Truly an amazing omakase experience. You can tell care and precision goes into the preparation of all of the courses. Our server was very kind and attentive and the food was everything we hoped it would be. I knew I’d love the toro courses, but I was surprised by others I ended up enjoying like the firefly squid. When we went it was 18 courses, $150 a person. Great date night option. The largest table seemed to have space for 4 people during COVID, so maybe not good for large groups. Thank you, Yasu! We will be back.

This is pretty much the pinnacle of sushi in my opinion. There may be other omakase restaurants out there with similar quality, but I find it hard you’d find much as good as this place.

My hubby and I found Yasu on the Resy app and had never before tried omakase style sushi. It was exciting to try so many new things. Most of the sushi was flown in SAME DAY from Japan which blew my mind. The server was informative and friendly. We were sipping on Sapporos and green tea throughout all 18 courses.
