I do understand that is not business as usual during the pandemic but our food and service is below what I could ever expect. The wait was unreasonable and the food was cold by time we got it. The food was half thrown together and my chicken plate was over cooked and dry. I did ask for no mushrooms so it did make the plate less full but it was not worth the price I paid at all. The side of broccoli was half thrown together also. Don’t expect much from this location. We also never received an order of rice we ordered. Probably will not even go back to get a refund or the rice.

This restaurant has much to offer in their dishes (Wow, what a sushi menu!!) but could certainly try a little harder to improve the ambiance. The sushi my husband and I had was very good. My parents hibachi meals were reported to also be very good. But my Mom commented on the lacking of atmosphere in the dining area. The bathroom, while decently clean was a laugh, with one stall obviously permanently “out of order” and tp strung with string in lieu of holders on the walls.

Went to Yakimono Express yesterday on my day off with my wife. Stopped once around 2:45 only to find out the sushi chef was on lunch. Came back around 4 after a chiropractor appointment and was ready to tackle some savory sushi!

Beautiful presentation on the sushi and the selection is so vast. The prices aren’t cheap but this is the real deal here. You get what you pay for. I rarely get full on sushi but this time I certainly did.

Don’t get me wrong they have great sushi. But my last few visits have not been so great. The time before this I repeated my order of a fried Philadelphia roll 3x and the owner even repeated it back. I get there she charges my card then gives me the wrong roll. She tried to argue with me but finally took it back and prepared the correct one. But I ended up waiting over 20 minutes .After her mistake I would have thought she would just take what she already charged but oh no she couldn’t loss that less than 2.00 . This time I called at 6:45 ordered 2 fried Philadelphia rolls and was quoted 20 minutes. Since the past 2 times she has made me wait way past what she quoted I gave her an extra 10 minutes. Then had to pull up and wait anyway my wait ended up being over 45 minutes. I even left over a 20% tip which I would not have done if I knew my order was going to take so long. The service is getting worse and worse. I may not go back after this. I wanted to support my local sushi place but not if this is what keeps happening with no apology. Gas is to expensive to have to wait 45 minutes for an order that is suppose to be ready in 20. I will gladly drive to Helen and get better more welcoming service.

Great food. Sushi is surprisingly good considering it’s northeast Georgia. It does take them some time to get food ready so make sure you order at least 30 minutes ahead. Dining room isn’t open yet, but they’re doing carryout via their drive-thru.

We arrived and there were very few people there. The food was excellent. Better than i expected. Two of us got the shrimp, that were not overcooked. My two sons got Philadelphia rolls that were tasty. The steak was a flank steak, so not as tender, but had good flavor. We will be back to eat there again.

This entire experience was wild from start to finish. I have never written a negative review for a restaurant, but the overwhelming urge I felt to write one as soon as I bit into this food hit me like a train. The “fried rice” was literal white rice which seemed to have no color or flavor aside from the carrots (and carrots only) mixed in. There wasn’t even a hint of soy sauce, I have no idea why it was even labeled as fried rice?? For some reason carrots are apparently the only vegetable they serve but be prepared for those big, sliced carrots from a can if you order from here. The meat was unseasoned, noodles were heavy/saturated in grease, and the customer service was bad (coming from 3 people who all actively work in the customer service industry). Plain white rice with shredded carrot and a huge side of flavorless carrots???? Greasy noodles that still somehow tasted like nothing??? I will say the seaweed salad was good, but seaweed salad is so processed & fake it’s nearly impossible to prepare incorrectly. My friends and I had just gone on a 7 mile hike and were starving so we begrudgingly ate our food to prevent passing out from exhaustion. We then spent approximately 2 hours of our car ride home hysterically laughing about how bad of an experience it was. We were actually dumbfounded at how this food was prepared and (not) seasoned. If you’re thinking of eating here, do yourself a favor and go to the Mcdonald’s across the street. If you work at this place, do yourself a favor and make a trip to Atlanta to experience what actual Japanese food tastes like because this is not it.
