Welcome to Lost in the 50s Diner! We are a small family business located in the heart of Hamilton. We have been serving our local community for a little over 10 years now. With a unique charm thanks to our 1950’s themed decor and oldies but goodies station playing all the greatest hits of the 50’s. We serve breakfast all day! Everything from homemade chipped beef and sausage gravy to pancakes, frenchtoast and waffles. Come and dine in with friends and family or take it to go. Whatever you’re craving we will do our best to serve. We hope to continue to provide great food, good service and a friendly environment for years to come.
PARKING: If available there is parking in front of the business , if not found there is a lot behind our diner.

Very cute diner. Obviously 50’s memorabilia. The food was very good! Honestly, it was better than I was expecting. And the staff was friendly!

I am so glad I stopped in to the Lost in the 50’s Diner! I had a lovely lunch in the most retro (without being tacky) little diner. The staff was friendly, the options were plentiful and most wonderfully, the prices were fantastic! I totally look forward to getting a chance to stop in again and try something new!

Absolutely love this family owned Diner. This place is always busy but never disappoints. Coffee, service & food are amazing! The prices are very reasonable and the cook is one of the most hard working woman I have ever met! If you’re looking for a good breakfast spot this is the place to go! It gets busy so get there early for a table or expect to wait a while.

I love the decor of this place. It’s nice, small and quaint. Nobody acknowledged us when we walked in though. I had to ask someone if we could seat ourselves after standing there for a few minutes. It’s self seating btw. Once seated our server was very friendly. Food was tasty and the prices were good. I should’ve asked for well done bacon. I will be back!!

Awesome awesome food! A hidden Baltimore GEM. 1st time here and impressed by the presentation, service and FOOD! Greek omelet with bacon added and a crispy waffle & hot tea. FIRST TIME I ever finished my plate! Always packed leftovers. I’m happily stuffed.I’ll be back. Improvement: more seating needed for the large crowds

The brunch place to go this side of town — coffee was piping hot, the eggs runny, toast buttered, grits yummy, sausage spiced, and — the best part — the home fries. What customers should know is the service is what makes this themed diner the place to go: the server is joyful and anticipated our needs (with refills, asking if the milkshake was for here or to go, asking about condiments for the grits and the home fries). I watched the chef as she prepared easily five orders at once, hardly making anyone wait at all. A tight crew made our brunch quite enjoyable.
There were several food options for vegetarians (omelettes, eggs with toast, home fries, grits, salads). People with Celiac disease should be wary, since the food isn’t gluten free due to the cross contamination on the grill. People with gluten intolerance however might be fine since there are dishes that don’t contain gluten (non-gluten containing or free of gluten). Worth a trip if you’re able.

I just want to say that it took me 40 minutes to get my takeout food because they forgot even when I paid. However, the food was amazing!!!! I went straight home to warm it up a little and the food tasted like I was sitting inside the restaurant eating it. Good 10/10 Service 9/10 only because they forgot my food lol

Great little place. Good food, friendly staff, fun atmosphere. Feels very much like a family run, neighborhood diner. I’m very happy I live around the corner from it

Food : Food was the best part of this diner, which it is supposed to be. You can taste flavors in the omelet. I ordered a meat lovers omelet. It was fresh. All three different meat used in omelet were fresh. After biting, you can tell it wasn’t cooked in the morning and then redone for you. It is done for you fresh. Potato fries were great too, flavorful. Coffee was fresh, too. Coffee tends to be on the stronger side if I am not wrong, is dark roast.
Service : We had a great service from beginning to end. Upon entering the diner, we were welcomed by Jennifer. While Jennifer was finding a proper spot for us. One of the employees asked us again if we were taken care of. Jennifer found us a clean spot and was mindful of what we wanted. All in all, the service was great.
Atmosphere: As the name suggests, “Lost in the 50s Diner. It takes you back in time. They play old hits in the background. Which complements the decor and place.
If you’re like us who moved from New York or New Jersey and is looking for diner. This place will not disappoint you. We looked into different diners around. But the other diner doesn’t know the difference between diner and fine dining. Other diners are overpriced and under deliver. While this one is light on your wallet but still gets you flavors and feel of diner.

After listening to my sister tell me for months that this place had the best BLT she’s ever ordered at a restaurant I finally tried it myself.
Definitely agree, it was a basic BLT but with perfectly crispy bacon, and a very good portion of bacon. The chili cheese fries were amazing and coffee was decent diner coffee.
