Just got my order 15min ago. The food was disgusting. The chicken katsu was grey and old. The mac was plain. They forgot my katsu sauce. The bbq beef ribs were cold. $33 gone to waste. I used to love this place but the quality has drastically gone down. The lumpia was ok, probably the only half decent item and I’m being generous. Included a picture of the katsu, before people think this is what thigh looks like….no it’s grey.

I was heading to Parkway Plaza but missed the exit, and luckily came across L&L Hawaiian BBQ. It was perfect because I had been craving spam musubi! I ordered the Spam Musubi for $6, BBQ Chicken for $15.95, Katsu Musubi for $5.45, and a Hawaiian Sun Mango Orange for $3.35. The place was cozy and ideal for a late brunch. The staff at the front desk were friendly, and the food was delicious! I especially loved the katsu, and the cold juice was perfect after being out in the heat.

L&L is one of the few most favorite places that I go to.
Food was good, But its usually very good.
It was over cooked a little. I have been going to the one in Mira Mesa for years and never had an over cooked chicken.
It must have been a one time issue.
The place was clean and nice with a few add-on option of rice and spam.
I will be back again soon for sure because I like L&L and to make sure it was only that just one time I had a little burned chicken skin.

They use to be so much better but every time in the past months it’s not great. Absolutely do not order chicken Katsu they always hide the old chicken under the fresh that they plate. The bbq mix plate was much smaller portion and The prices are way higher and the Flavor was lacking. Just skip and do it yourself at home

Honestly I will never come back to this place. I placed an order at 8:00 pm over the phone and they this gal told me 10-15 min to be ready. Ok no problem. When I went to pick up it was 8:35 pm and it was closed! So they close at 9 like Whatta !!! They could’ve just told me we are no longer taking orders

Such a disappointment of the L&L Hawaiian image. Don’t go here, go to Santee location. Ordered to-go and they said 15 mins. Took over 30 mins for starters, and when I finally got home with my food, got a pathetic excuse of a short rib in my mix plate. See Attached picture. Received 1 short rib, and it was as if they tore it from a hyena and I got the leftovers.

Went there earlier today 3/25/22.. very new staff, did not know how to select QR code for the app. She said she has to wait for her manager…
Other than the poor training the new staff, it is always great food, decent service, and perfect if you’re ordering to-go. Would not recommend eating inside it gets hot and stuffy.
Perfect meal if you are craving Hawaiian food.
I suggest ordering the combo and it comes with steak, chicken, and BBQ short ribs. Around $15.
We also substitute the short ribs with the katsu chicken, as there is not that meat on the ribs (mostly bone)

Always great music. Updated April 2023 Its a little expensive now and the food is ok. 18 bucks for a BBQ mix. The cheese burger was good. Could use an good cleaning inside.
