Living on the other side of the country, I used to occasionally get excited if I saw a bakery near me had morning buns. I no longer get excited because no other bakery makes a morning bun like wicked island. Highest standard for a wonderful treat! Just make sure to get there in the morning as they sell out quickly

Went for the morning buns (of course) and was not disappointed at all! Be sure to get there on the earlier side – as I went one morning in the off-season around 10:30 and they were already sold out (of a lot of things … not just the morning buns). Prices are a little steep – but in line with other prices on the island.

Whatever the opposite of a well oiled machine is the Wicked Island bakery. Clueless children running the show with seemingly zero training. The products are fine and taste great. The trouble getting them makes it less enjoyable. The morning buns are good when warm, just layered croissant dough rolled in churro sugar, the coffee is good, the scones are good. Watching a dozen clueless kids try not to assist customers is painful.

Called the bakery and was told they had the morning buns and more were currently in the oven and would be ready in 40 min . We ordered an Uber immediately and arrived only to be told it would be an hour and they weren’t even in the oven . While we waited in the bakery we witnessed countless customers being told various times ranging from 20 min to 45. Some were told they were in the oven and some told they were not . Another couple came in who had also called in advance as were told 20 min on the phone . When they arrived they were told they were not in the oven and it would be 30 min . Meanwhile we had been in there for at least 45 min listening to all this . When I called on the table about it, they start stammering. I said well we always stay around, but we watch them literally lie from the time we called it eight in the morning for the time that we left there at about 9:20am. Meanwhile, the staff was also rude, condescending, and the other baked goods were sparse because of line kept getting longer and longer and they were not prepared . We eventually walked out and $40 later in Uber rides. We never got our morning buns. Will never go back there again. I would never recommend them to anyone.

My family traveled to Nantucket Island for the first time to celebrate a spectacular wedding. Little did I know a small bakery would become one of my lasting memories. Wicked Island Bakery reviews are inadequately describing the fabulous baked goods. Maybe the islanders wish to keep this their little secret. Based on the lines of construction workers, residents and families…..enough people have found this gem. Each morning I traveled out for a bun or scone. Visiting different little places that described themselves as a bakery. They were primarily serving breakfast and making a donut or muffin. Then I found WIB…..this ain’t no breakfast joint. This is a bakery that focuses on breakfast items…..if you are lucky you will arrive while the Morning Buns come out of the oven. They are Devine. Buy six if you can….if a wait is required relax and grab a coffee and blueberry/lemon scone. That’s what I did and during that 45 minute wait I observed the customers. They were buying breakfast sandwiches…..mushroom and brie pastries…..and asking about the next batch of Ham & Cheese Croissants. After arriving home with my box of 6 hot morning buns my family went berserk over these delicious crisp but at the same time soft sweet rolls. The next morning I arrived at 6am and waited for WIB to open. This time I expanded my purchase using Intel from the prior visit. 3 MB’s, 3 Ham & Cheese Croissants and a Hangover Breakfast Sandwich. Once again my family’s reaction to the items were priceless. The next morning we flew back to Washington DC. We had attended one of the most beautifully and fun weddings EVER and spent a week on this charming island. My only regret is not finding Wicked Island Bakery earlier. I’LL BE BACK!

Very good food at island prices. Not the place to visit if you are in a hurry. Grab some coffee, take a number, sit on the patio, and wait for your number to be called to pick up your morning buns.

Selection of fresh brewed coffee, hot & cold sandwiches, pastries and cookies. The egg bites (or was it egg cup?!) were delicious! Also fresh pizza dough for $2 !

If I could give six stars, this is probably the only place on the planet I would award it.
