The food was pricey for what it was, but then again it was a hotel restaurant. It was a nice of view of the Baltimore Harbor and the staff was very willing to let all the guests sit close to the windows.
The food was delicious—everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. I also have to mention the cocktails; they were amazing! It’s clear they put a lot of thought into their drink menu.
Overall, we had a wonderful time, and I can’t wait to come back the next time we’re visiting family. Highly recommend Water for a lovely meal with a view!
Upon arriving to The Watertable, we were greeted by a sign that informed you of the buffet prices. No big deal, I am sure the quality of the food and service would match the higher-than-average price for a downtown breakfast buffet. Boy was I wrong. Let’s get started:
1. No one greeted us when we approached the entrance. We stood there, just waiting. Finally two minutes into waiting (and poking our heads in the dining room) we were greeted and then led to a table. No apology for the wait..
2. The table was ready for us, but it was dirty. Apparently someone set the table but never cleaned it. No apology for the dirty table..
3. We sat and waited for our waitress/waiter to arrive. No one showed up, I noticed two of them running around attending to other tables. But no one visited our table to take our drink order.
4. The buffet was disappointing. Thin bacon, dehydrated eggs, and super dry potatoes. All of this, for $22.95. No omelet station, no fresh eggs, no waffle maker, and no coffee station.
5. When we got back to our table, we still had to flag down someone to take our drink order. And by the time our drink arrived, we were mostly done with our plates.
6. And of course, obtaining our bill and paying for it, took an obscene amount of time.
I understand that in today’s times, staff are short, quality can be hit or miss, and people are trying their best. But there is NO WAY that this place can charge its customers $22.99 for that buffet and service.
TL:DR The Watertable is overpriced, under staffed, and falls extremely short on delivering a quality breakfast buffet. Families look elsewhere, it’s not worth it.
