We had the catfish and liver and onions dinners. The catfish was seasoned well and fried hard. They give you two whole filets which was more than enough. It’s hard to find liver and onions anymore, and even harder to find it cooked right. Wanda J’s knows what they’re doing. Reminds me of eating it as a kid! The serving sizes are generous. The two diners with drinks came in at $30 and we had leftovers to take.

Super good. I had the catfish plate and country fried steak plate. I like how even on the potato they don’t cheap out on the gravy. The catfish is beautifully fried to perfection. Portions are generous and prices are more than fair. Everyone inside is hard working and friendly. I really like the vibe inside. Every time I come to T town I have to stop by.

Our lunch at this Southern Food Restaurant was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious! I chose the Catfish lunch with two sides, cornbread and ice tea. Every bite reminded me of the home cooking that I grew up with. I DEFINITELY will dine here again when in the area. Custom Service was great too.

The service here was very good ! We felt like we were talking to a cousin or someone related to us. And being from out of town, it was nice to have that type of service. The food was good. I personally had the grilled with mac and cheese and fried on the cob. My wife had liver and onions, fried cat fish, greens, mashed and gravy. She said the liver and onions was great! Everything else was ok. My pork was a little dry. But it was seasoned well. All in all, a good experience.

I wandered in after a rainy July morning and had the tastiest veggie plate for $9. I haven’t had cabbage this good since grandma’s house!

I went to a local shop on Black Wall Street and asked for food recommendations. They recommended Wanda J’s and their recommendation did not disappoint. The workers are so nice and accommodating. I was able to have a light conversation with my server as well as get recommendations for other things in town. It was very sweet of her to take the time to talk to me. The food is good too! There are options for everyone. I got a basic meal of chicken tenders, fries, mashed potatoes and corn bread. The food was very tasty and was a good portion. I highly recommend anything with mashed potatoes and corn bread as your side. One thing to keep in mind is that the location is small. So make sure to give yourself enough time if you go at a regular dining time just in case it’s busy. They do carry out too if you’d like to take it back to your hotel/home.

Visited with a large group and everyone raved about this place. I was excited to try it out. I really wanted to like it. It was too crowded to sit inside and enjoy, so we ordered to go and waited outside in the heat. My friend had been before and ordered wings and greens. I ordered fried pork chops with greens. We both ordered cabbage, but sadly, when we got all the way across town to our hotel, they subbed both out for green beans, which had an ok taste, but I was not pleased that no one even bothered to ask us if we wanted something different- if they were out of cabbage – not accounting for possible allergies, or maybe we just don’t like green beans? My pork was seasoned ok, but a little dry. I would go there again to try other items, but I heard they are being forced out, and not being allowed to renew their lease. A shame! Seems like everyone in our group really enjoyed going here every year.

Some of the best catfish and fried chicken I’ve eaten!! The candied yams and fried cabbage was down home goodness!! If there is a wait, it’s well worth it!!

I had a great lunch here. The chicken strips were fresh, tender, and just the right portion size. Good sides too. Wish I didn’t have to watch my waist so I could enjoy some peach cobbler. Next time for sure.

Some of the best down-home cooking you can find in Tulsa. The atmosphere is cozy and feels like moms kitchen. The staff is super friendly and sweet! I had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and cream gravy with collard greens. Everything was amazing! The chicken was tender and the potatoes were perfect. The collard greens are some of the best I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to go back and try the meatloaf! Highly Recommend!
