I really enjoyed going here, great food and friendly service, but like many places stuff has changed. Prices are going up, while quantity and quality is going down. I ordered a Rueben and my wife the country BBQ. Both of our sandwiches were skimpy, minimal meat. My Rueben had extra sauerkraut and wife’s BBQ had more Cole slaw than BBQ. Im not sure what happened to this place, but it isnt a positive change. Hopefully it was just a bad day, but if not, management needs to step up and keep it consistent. With all that being said, the food was still great and service top notch, but to pay $40 for what we got seems excessive.

We love coming here always greeted with a smile and honestly some of the best food I’ve had. We usually get the country bbq sandwich and it’s so amazing a little greasy but we like that! We have also had almost every thing on the menu and it’s always been amazing. Although it’s expensive I feel alright giving my money to them then to a fast food companies !

This is not typically a place I would go, but when a friend said he got the best burger he had ever had here, I figured I was driving right by it so let’s give it a try. Tell you what I don’t know if I’d say number one, but I would put it up pretty high on the list. It’s a cute place with a lot of interesting things to see. Amish-made furniture, local cheeses, jams and canned goods, quilts, Western wear and antiques! It’s a very eclectic market and worth the stop to browse and have a bite to eat. Vegetable market not open yet, but I’ll bet it’s worth a stop too. I will be back.

I love going to this restaurant at the Shanandoah Heritage Farmer’s Market because it gives you great food and great customer service and a wonderful place to hang out and take it easy and meet friends and have several other places to shop and take a look at things before or after eating. It is wonderful on Tuesdays only when an individual outside barbecues chicken for only $5 for a whole quarter. They also have an antique shop, a toy shop, a fabric shop, a kitchen shop, a military surplus store, a store for everything a cowboy could want, and many other things you enjoy also. They do a very good job making the facility handicap accessible and even providing wheelchairs for those who may need one. I Highly recommend coming and checking out the place for yourself and I guarantee you that you will want to come back time and time again.

I had a sweet tooth. I bought the jumbo red velvet cupcake and the Italian peanut butter cup gelato. The cupcake had a strong cream cheese flavor but the cupcake was too dry to me. I didn’t eat it all. The gelato was good but not my favorite. There were plenty of tables to sit down though. It was in its own little section in the market and it was about in the middle of the market. I wouldn’t order the cupcake or gelato again, it was just OK. Prices were OK. It was almost $9 for a small cup of gelato and a jumbo cupcake. For the taste of both it was not worth the $9. They have other food to order like sandwiches, burgers, soups, etc. The cashier was friendly. 3 stars because it is about average for a cupcake/gelato from all the places I have tried in the last year and the service was good.

We stopped here for lunch on a road trip. The ambiance is very much like stepping into your grandmother’s house. It was located inside of an indoor flea market type building. It was clean, albeit dated – but it added to the charm. Menu was simple and well priced. Staff was very friendly and helpful. No dedicated kids menu, but they do have options like hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken tenders. Food was very fresh and flavorful. Sandwiches came with a bag of route 11 chips. Overall I would definitely recommend eating here.

We’d been driving all day and stopped at the Shenandoah Heritage Market to stretch our legs. We were also quite hungry and decided to eat at the Hungry Farmer Cafe, and wow, was it good! My husband was very pleased with his BLT and I really enjoyed the Farmer’s Steak ‘N Cheese. Everything tasted so fresh and high quality. We both got onion rings which were also very good. Our only complaint which is pretty minor is that they didn’t have to-go cups for our drinks. Drinks (soda/tea) were served in plastic cups and it would’ve been nice to leave with a drink to enjoy in the car, as drinks had free refills.

Was told we had a 40 minute wait for ordering food, which was okay. Was able to put our number on a table and go around to the shops. Returning was able to order had another 30-40 minute wait to get our food. The steak and cheese was very little meat, very greasy. My side order of onions rings was tiny and greasy. My husbands steak and cheese was the same, his basket of bacon cheese fries was more of a side order amount, also extremely greasy. We felt like it was over priced for the quantity and quality we got. We won’t be back to eat, will be back to shop, the shops.
