We walked in and the atmosphere was really nice. But the food was not good. I had a cordon bleu sandwich and the chicken was like a block of chewy chicken. My wife had a Patty melt and it was really plain. The server had no personality what so ever. Not a good experience.

The worst experience at a restaurant. Several people in the group felt this way. It is too bad because this historical place is so beautiful inside. The food is awful. Burgers are overcooked, fries taste like they are from last week. We asked for more fries as they weren’t edible. The new fries were honestly slightly better but still I only ate a couple as I needed something for food. Others had steak, not good. Anyways, I wish we read the reviews before stopping at this cool historic spot.

My brother and I came in after a day of fishing, sat down and ordered 2 sandwiches and a one trip salad bar. There were only a few people in there when we first got there and were told by our waitress that this was her first night… ok. After we had got and ate our salads two other groups came in and sat close to us. One group of four ordered steaks and the other group, a couple ordered chicken fried steaks. At about the half hour mark I stared wondering what was taking so long and then I noticed the other waitress that had been helping the new girl was gone.. nowhere to be seen! Then the two other groups that came in after us by 20 or more minutes and ordered steaks and chicken fried steaks got served their meals, this was at about the 50 minute mark I asked what was taking so long and was assured ours was on it’s way….another 10 minutes and finally we were severed. The French dip I ordered looked like they went and got it from Arby’s. The meat was dry and not what I would expect for a “Cowboy Dip”. I took my sandwich up to the counter and asked to talk to the manager/cook, and said “I waited an hour for this while the other tables around us were all served steaks they ordered after us”… He shrugged his shoulders and said SO!! Had we not had the salad we would have left before… Local with a bad attitude and just don’t care. paid bill, left new girl her tip… won’t be back… terrible service!

I’m pretty easy to please and have never left a negative review about food. Usually, if it’s good enough then fine. However, everyone’s food at our table was cold (not lukewarm, actually cold), server was nice but forgetful and neglectful, salad bar was picked over with nothing but white iceberg lettuce (no green lettuce anywhere). And certainly overpriced considering all the quality we didn’t get. If was pointless to bring our concerns up to server as she already wasn’t following up with basics like who had what and refilling drinks—half of our party couldn’t get a refill beyond their first fill. I did, however, share my concerns with the cashier and she was nice and apologized and said she’d tell the kitchen. However, no discount was given nor was the manager brought out to address our concerns. 7-2-22, party of 6, slow night, most tables were empty so it wasn’t busy. The tables have notes asking for reviews, so I did (I opted out of asking for the free dessert that comes with leaving a review). I would recommend this places fixes all the 1-2 star reviews concerns I read here (who seem to have similar experiences) before they ask for more reviews.

Great, locally owned. Great old family-style breakfast ti get one ready to go work the fields, or wrangle the herd.

We ate there Saturday 4/9/22. The service was great, Sierra was very friendly and quick to bring our requested items. However, THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. My husband’s burger was overcooked, my daughter’s chicken strips were overcooked, the two other people at our table ordered the tenderloin and received a very thinly sliced cut of sirloin, that was full of FAT. My baked potato was under cooked and super hard, i couldn’t even eat it. We did not ask for a discount or for any of our food to go back- we will just never eat there again. Ever. It used to be really good food, i’m not sure what has happened.

This should be a four star place but the service was extremely slow. The spicy half-pound peanut butter and jelly hamburger caught my attention. It’s a standard burger topped with peanut butter and jalapeño jelly. I’m not sad I tried it, but there was no kick from the jelly because the peanut butter was way too thick.

The best thing about it was the horseradish. Seriously, the entire meal was cold, the charge for $1.99 each for sauted mushrooms and onions was very scanty, and even when I sent it back to heat up, it still came back luke warm. The hamburger steak was tasty, but the rest was terrible. My husband had the prime ribs, and once again, the sides were all cold. He said is was like a Vegas buffet…just mediocre. There was no salt and pepper which I guess was not a huge deal but after they “warmed” my plate, the.corn…still not warm, was very bland. Didn’t end up eating the corn nor the potatoes. The waitress wa very good though, so there’s that.
