Best prices when compared to seemingly any similar restaurants locally, and they give generous portion sizes. $9.55 after taxes for 2 servings of chicken and some rice.

This is my favorite part of the food court. My daughter and I get a combo and have like 3 meals out of it. It’s not homemade or authentic tasting at all. It tastes food courtish. But it’s soooo good. Especially the yum yum chicken. If you want to try something before buying they will give you samples. The fountain drink machine is busted but they have a selection of bottled drinks. The staff are always very nice.

Well it’s official. The Umi chicken is no longer worth going out of the way for. I literally couldn’t chew it. The customer service is always friendly. I don’t know what changed but the chicken wasn’t crispy at all, just over cooked and hard. I’m heartbroken.

Ordered chicken terriyaky for $7.50, because I was told it would be cooked fresh!! The chicken was over cooked and meet was hard to chew! There’re only 8 small pieces chicken, yes I counted them!!!

Not the same people as before alas. The food has definitely changed x) The rice was overcooked to hell, the meat however was delicious! The lady at the counter was very nice to my friend and I, considering I’m mobility-impaired and usually in a wheelchair. So that was very nice to see! I will say if you’re used to how this place used to run, you likely won’t enjoy the food. However since we were wanting something quick and meat-heavy, I was able to eat it with little fuss. :^)

I’m so sad. We went for the first time in about a year and it seems it’s changed owners and the food quality and taste has suffered. The rice was undercooked, the veggies undercooked, umi chicken was overcooked and super crunchy almost to the point of breaking teeth. A visit to Umi has been a Christmas favorite of ours for over 20 yrs and now I’m afraid that tradition will be coming to an end. I wish the new owners the best of luck in the future.

I have been eating food from Umi of Japan for 23 years (ate there my first time at age 14). I have no clue how all these people give them a 1 star review. I have never gotten sick from their food in my life. Thai Kitchen on the other side of the food court however, I got horrifyingly sick the first, and last, time I ate there.

Man I have been going to this place since I was a little child, and I’m 29 now! The Umi chicken is the BEST Chinese chicken I have had in the area hands down! I always get an order of extra Umi chicken with noodles.
