Good food, if pricey. This location is a combo kitchen serving food with other restaurants through services like Postmates & DoorDash. So no indoor seating, just grab and go. You can order in person too. Convenient street parking nearby. I tried the burrito mexicano, churro waffle bites and cucumber mint limeade. Burrito was good, waffle bites were soggy but crisped up nicely in the air fryer (homemade caramel sauce was a nice touch). Limade was refreshing but rather sweet. Overall it was decent food in decent portions. I’d be curious to try an actual restaurant location.

I love the other locations. This is a ghost kitchen which is fine but there is a noticeable difference in quality. I ordered fish tacos and when I arrived to pick them up I was told to wait an extra 15 minutes. Turns out they were out of fish and I had to substitute. When I finally received my order and went home, I realized the guacamole did not include the pepitas + pomegranate seeds AND they didn’t even include the chips I ordered. On top of all that, the food was cold. Portions are also much smaller than the other locations. Super frustrating experience and I will definitely not go back.

honestly the worst meal i’ve ever gotten. i poured my “large” soup into a measuring cup and it wasn’t even 1/3 of a cup! and i ordered two large soups!!! each costing $10 each. if you enjoy a sip of soup then this is your place. so upsetting. and whoever thinks that is normal is insane !

I love Tocoya. I’ve only been to the Santa Monica location and my belly is always left satisfied. I was happy to see that there was a location closer to home (Pasadena). I ordered the fried mushroom taco, tofu adobo taco, and mushroom quesadilla with avocado. The mushroom taco was good, flavor was there its just that the mushroom wasn’t fried long enough so the batter was raw. The tofu taco I threw away because the tofu was so hard. I’ve never had tofu that firm, wasn’t my cup of tea. I am vegetarian so I always get the mushroom quesadilla. I was so shocked to see how small it was. At the SM location, it is much bigger with more flavor. The tortilla was hard. I couldn’t finish it, just ate the mushrooms and avocado. My bf got the fajitas diablo chicken burrito and said he would rather eat a Chipotle burrito. I hope people give this place a shot (just not the Pasadena location) I’ll stick to the location closer to my job in SM. I ALWAYS do pick up orders and never ran into this issues of hard tortilla.

This is not at all a real Tocaya restaurant. It’s a takeout only warehouse with no seating where they make food for many different restaurants. Everyone in there looks confused, the portions for our Tocaya orders are much smaller than the usual that we get from the regular restaurant. Super weird vibes all around from the 2 people working there and you have to order on the automated dine in iPads. Quality is definitely not the same as their actual restaurant locations and there’s nothing online that indicates that this one is different before you order from there.
