Social Profile:

We are changing the way Mexican food is presented in Hawaii, by offering the most traditional regional dishes made with the highest quality ingredients to transport our customers to a rural kitchen in Mexico or the beaches and fishing villages of Sinaloa. Tlaxcalli is not a tired concept, we are the way that Mexican food is supposed to be prepared and served, Our focus is in our homemade tortillas that are the base for all the dishes in Mexican cooking. Our menu feels like home, we are not reinventing the wheel, we simply want to share the memories of our childhood through our food. We would like to point out that we don’t serve rice…

If you like Mexican food and to dine in a good ambiance, this is the place for you! Definitely recommend the drinks, as they have a nice variety of original cocktails. Food quality and presentation was amazing, Will our server was very knowledgeable and gave some solid recommendations. Have the bread pudding for dessert, you will not regret it!

Tlaxcalli is a great place to grab some Aztec-focused, northern Central American food. Just a block or so off King Street this place is a gem. The small business family owned restaurant also has a nice, relaxing outdoor area, perfect for brunch or dinner.

The food is so well prepared and seasoned. Start with the ceviche and whatever tequila Will recommends. Then get the of birria, the pibil, and calabacitas con queso if you are vegetarian.

We had a great first time. Loved the atmosphere and food, and Wil our server and bartender was awesome. We had the Conchita Pibil, Birria that’s made with goat and quesadillas de asada. For desert we had their churros bread pudding. Everything was delicious.

The best Mexican food on island- by far. Delicious and fresh. Appetizing vegetarian options. Atmosphere is appealing- either indoor or outdoor- both are fantastic. Bar is beautiful and well stocked too There’s plenty of seating. Website reservations are quirky so call for advance seating- or just show up . It’s well worth any wait!

Denied entry on taco Tuesday for wearing a tanktop. Most un-American move ever, especially in Hawaii. Good thing there’s other Hispanic restaurants right around the corner that don’t judge people and have even better food and drinks.

What a great experience. Friday night had a wonderfully enjoyable dinner. Small, quaint, authentic and delicious. Small selection of beers on tap and a nice selection of Tequila and cocktails. Staff was nice and prompt.

Churro bread pudding is amazing! The huevo con chorizo was okay. The beef tips in Chile verde are pretty spicy. NOTE * I will say the waitress was very kind but the owner is a bit standoffish. Most likely not a restaurant I would return to for that reason. Good service – at least for me- always outweighs delicious food. They’re very hit or miss so I would rather not risk it because we are the type to just pay and walk out if the service is subpar rather than dealing with rudeness on the restaurants part. There are tons of restaurants on Oahu with fantastic service 99% of the time as well as great food. It’s not worth the risk of bad service ruining a meal. They also do not have high chairs. The owner seem very argumentative to any criticism. That’s says a lot to me as a customer.

haven’t even finished my meal and already needed to review – so so so good, and awesome outdoor seating, I almost forgot I was in the city! Feels like a side street in Baja! Super amazing hot sauces and quality meats and veggies!
