Overall the food was good, I wouldn’t get the country style steak again, was not as advertised….it wound up being an ultra thin, stamped out piece of leather-like beef patty. But everyone else’s looks better. The chicken-fried steak….much better and the fried chicken….was also nice. The Spaghetti was reported to be good also. I didn’t use the word excellent here for a reason. Honestly the service here was much worse than it needed to be. The night my family was here there were several staff on hand but they obviously had almost no training and little initiative. Coffee was never refilled and if you needed something you got up and went to ask. I gave it four stars because the price was nice, $10/person, food was acceptable and no wait time. Obviously this place is a local favorite so they really need to hire a competent front-end manager to whip that side into shape.

Don’t bother if you like flavor included in your food. Paid $23 for a prime rib and fries with absolutely NO SEASONING. At all. Not even salt on the fries. Medium means well done. Chicken was room temperature and so dry I wouldn’t be surprised if dust came out with every bite. And all staff seemed like they’d rather be anywhere else, not limited to, and probably including literal hell. Possibly the worst place I’ve ever tried on the entire East coast.

3.5- 4 I’ll come back to try the specials. Been passing by this place for years and years, decided today was the day to try them out. Enjoyed that they have a Carolina style burger option, ( chili slaw onions mustard) had a hot dog too. I know everyone is getting more expensive nowadays, but I don’t feel like I had a 15 $ meal with a burger, a hot dog and fries. The quality of the meal was right on par, no complaints other than my fries were mostly the smaller, crunchy ends. Very nice employees, seem a little overworked but who ain’t.

Dated decor but clean, food was good for the most part, fries way over cooked definitely not fresh. Most of the Patons here were wonderful engaging senior citizens and that in its self made the stop worth while. The service personnel were friendly but rather slow and no where as engaging as I would have expected in a local long established business as this restaurant it. I’ll go back but not sure when.

Seated fairly quickly, even though parking lot was packed for Sunday lunch. Food was slow to come out but it was busy. Servers kept drinks refilled and made accommodations for dietary restrictions.

We have been here 4 different times and each experience has been very good. They have an incredible breakfast. Their food is plain fair, nothing fancy. It’s good down home southern cooking.

Always good food and service. When you take your kid whose been coming here since before they were born and they ask that their favorite dessert be set back for them, you hope your server has Donna’s sense of humor and sets them straight! Coming to Timberwood is like visiting family. Donna, Larry, Phil and the rest of the gang put the home in home cooking!

I ate the open face sandwich, cube steak cooked well (needed more seasoning, gravy was blah and didn’t taste handmade (would’ve been banging if some good gravy on there!), mashed potatoes were great. Atmosphere was pretty weird feeling but I’m sure it’s always been like that. Prices not bad and they run specials.

Food quality continues to seemingly decrease. Peach cobbler was under cooked, light on serving size. Rolls were cold. Fried chicken tasted as if it were cooked in older grease. Service was very attentive as usual. Overall decor is in need of remodel.
