This place came highly recommended by people who know and enjoy good food in a great atmosphere and with great service! It surpassed my expectations in service, taste, and presentation of the food we ordered. The gumbo was the best gumbo I’ve ever tasted and I have a thing for trying gumbo in every city I travel to. Also, the lump Crabcake Sammich not only looked delicious (I admired it from my side of the table as I devoured my gumbo) but the pairing of the lump crab, arugula and pomegranate seeds was just…. Just…. Now I know that I have a GO TO place when I’m in town.

My friends have been saying and posting on social media to visit “The Yella Dog” located on the public golf course in Texas City, TX. One afternoon, I made a special trip to visit, and it was one of the best dining experiences in my life. The staff warmly greeted upon entry and eye contact. They were very professional yet very warm. I am 9 year pescatarian, and the staff including the incredible chef/owner Jaanai had recommendations. I had a delightful, fresh, perfectly seasoned crab cake on a bed of greens with the delicious, freshly made remoulade versus as a sandwich and a slice of sweet potatoe cheesecake. The cheesecake was divine. I am going back soon. While I sat there and enjoyed my meal, I observed the staff warmly greet regulars and newbies as myself without missing a beat. I was so impressed I purchased my sister’s birthday gift card to The Yella Dog!!! Whenever you are in the area, please stop by The Yella Dog and enjoy some phenomenal food at a golf course. I’ve never had nothing better than good barbecue at the golf course tournament, so do NOT overthink or second guess… just go to THE YELLA DOG for awesome food and great service.

I hosted my bunko group at The Yella Dog last night! WOW! Jennai and her staff were OVER THE TOP! The food was perfect and the restaurant was set up for us, complete with flowers and printed menus at each plate. Our food was the deviled eggs, chicken fried chicken tacos, brisket sliders and banana pudding for dessert. I highly recommend The Yella Dog, let’s support our local businesses.
