Been here several times now and the food is great, service is good, the atmosphere is cool. The only concern I have is on hot days, if I choose to sit inside, it’s because I want to not be hot. Twice now we were seated inside and we may as well have been outside in the heat. Even the staff looked miserable. This last visit, the staff eventually closed the roll up door and the ac kicked on.

Beautiful restaurant and all the staff were very attentive. Tuna tartare was delicious! I ordered the Salmon entree just couldn’t eat it all due to filling up on the tuna. Will definitely go back to try the Mole Pork chop.

The food is absolutely delicious! The only reason I gave it for stars is the hat I feel like there’s a lack of vegetables.

Went for brunch to check out the new hot spot in town. Being familiar with other restaurants owned by the same people I knew what to expect, but this was even better then I anticipated! We were one of those tables with a million questions but our server Miranda was super patient and helped us out with choosing the perfect meal and explaining what things were! Definitely will be back!

We have visited the Velveteen plum already twice and both time had an amazing experience. Loved the drinks, food and the service. Cool interior design and pleasant view of the city.

The atmosphere and service was overall very good, the environment was clean, the waitress was very sweet and was overall knowledgeable about the food and drinks. The food and drinks on the other hand were not as described in the menu nor were they prepared as I thought they would be, the drink was overall pretty bitter even though I assumed the vodka with lemonade would be somewhat sweet, especially with the simple syrup. I had the burger and I am not sure if the menu read that it would be charcoal grilled which typically I love but the charcoal made it taste so burnt and bitter I couldn’t eat it after I had some of the food. I appreciate the restaurant bringing new food to the community but what is described isn’t always what you get. The dessert we got was the red velvet cake with raspberry and mousse which I was excited to try thinking it couldn’t really be anything else but what came out was this pink cake that has mousse and a raspberry wet chunky filling in the inside, which it wasn’t the worst thing, it didn’t taste anything like red velvet cake but it wasn’t bad, I was just expecting something like red velvet cake which the menu read. I give this a 2 out of 5 because truthfully for the price and atmosphere I would expect the food to meet that value and not be something that is quiet disappointing. The staff was so sweet, waitress was lovely. Beautiful, clean lovely place.

I got the pleasure of coming here to celebrate my step-mom’s and my birthdays. First time here and was floored how incredible this place is! I felt like I was just transported to a big city modern restaurant. Our server Brooke was attentive, intelligent (it was slow so we talked a lot about her future career and life), adorable, funny and gave us just the right amount of nudges and suggestions for more drinks and food. We didn’t feel pressured or hurried but thoroughly enjoy every second we were there. The hostess was awesome too and suggested we have tequila to celebrate our birthday. We looked at each other like ha ha is it that obvious?! The Thai Basil Margarita was awesome with the Mecalita coming in for a close second. Liked the Raspberry Margarita as well but was a little too sweet for our palates. Sharing it was just the right amount of sweet. Please add the option of mezcal soaked serranos to the ceviche or pork tacos! I did and it took some already incredible foods to another level of pleasure. Thank you for making Wausau that much more awesome. We’d like to suggest a scholarship program for your employees as many of them are college students. It’s be a great way to retain excellent staff and continue to give back to the community. Help Brooke become PA, PT or whatever her leads!

It could be a great addition to Wausau dining. There were small things with the food that made me like it but not love it.
