The word gets around…this is a place for lunch, early dinner, or an entertaining fun night with food and drinks. Do you want music?.. come here and sit outside at the bar or table. The food portions are just right and the jerk chicken tacos yummy. Ash was our server, very helpful. On Pope Avenue in Coligny Plaza to park. They have a bike rack too. Totally satisfied, kid friendly during the day too.

Very nice, beachy restaurant! Exactly what you picture when you think of restaurants on an island. They have live music outside on the regular and plenty of outside seating. We chose to eat inside because we happened to go during a heat wave. The menu was nice and simple without being overwhelming with choices. I had the fish tacos & my only complaint was the shells were very hard & crispy. The service was good as well. It was packed when we went, so the service was a little slow, but nothing that uncomfortably long. They were still very attentive to our table. We will eat here again, hopefully outside, if we vacation back on HH.

I’m not sure why this has 4.5 stars. Food was extremely salty. I originally ordered the bacon wrapped scallops but had to return it because of how salty it was. I ordered a fish taco, and it was a little better, but the fried fish was salty as well. I wouldn’t go bach or recommend it to anyone trying to find good local food. No flavor and salty.

Best experience to a new restaurant out of state. Had never been to Hilton head or South Carolina. Was right right near Coligny beach where we parked. 4 min drive. Could have literally walked there. The service was so sweet excellent customer service. The food was impeccable & impressive. Our server recommended the loaded hush puppies for our appetizer OMG it was the best. She also recommended really good drinks. I had Shipwrecked which was amazing. I would recommend highly & I so want to return.

The food here is DELICIOUS! However, the service isn’t the best. Our server did not write down any of our orders. I ordered the shrimp tacos but received the scallop tacos. I am not a picky person so I ate them. Still yummy. Our server also rarely checked on us throughout our meal. When we first got our drinks, he forgot to add lemons. About 15 mins go by before he brings back lemons. We were almost finished with our meal by the time he came with refills. The atmosphere and food are great tho and we enjoyed the live singing. We were also quoted 45mins-1hr wait time but it ended up being 2 hours until we got a table.

After a few days on Hilton Head, we got a chance to get away to The Sandbar. Admittedly a bit worried about the crowds waiting for tables, we headed there for dinner with the kids and much to our surprise, the ’20-25 minute wait’ was only about 15 minutes and we were in. They take your number and text you when your tables ready so you can go to the nearby shops and check things out. There was live music and the atmosphere was great even with our 8 year old and 18 month old. My wife and I both ordered from the mule menu (they were pretty popular when we looked around as well) I got the dark and stormy which was really good and my wife got the peach mule which was tasty too! Our family all ordered tacos: The Carne Asada, Island Shrimp, and Caribbean Jerk Chicken. All 3 dishes were great and very tasty! You get 2 tacos with each meal. The chips and salsa that come on the side were also really good. The meal was pretty light and not over filling. For came out very quick without much wait at all. Service was really quick especially with a full house! Prices were very fair for a tourist area, drinks too! $8 mules and $14 meals. $4 beers on the menu as well. You really can’t beat it. There was a kids menu for the little littles too! We’re planning to go back before leaving the island. I definitely wouldn’t pass up The Sandbar, even if it looks like a long wait, you can waste some time at the shops and it’ll probably be quicker than you think!

Enjoyed a great al fresco meal on their shaded patio. The seafood salad was delicious with grilled shrimp and crab meat. Their videlia onion vinaigrette was very tasty. Service was very good and the atmosphere was relaxed. It’s a place where I would enjoy watching sports, raising a glass of cheer with friends, a ladies lunch, or before heading to the beach to soak up some rays.

Such a cute little place with delicious food! Our server, Lexi, was awesome! The quesadilla was delicious and my whole family enjoyed the dinner. Definitely worth checking out!

The atmosphere was awesome! Food was pretty good as well, though I would not recommend the Jamaican jerk pasta, chicken was really dry but everything else was great; Would definitely recommend this place! Awesome for kids too, had coloring menu and colored pencils.
