Thai cuisine is well known for its slickness, with Som Tam (a spicy papaya salad) being a famous example. In fact, however, the secret to Thai Food is a balance of five flavors: Sour, Sweet, Salty, Bitter, and Spicy. Some Thai dishes have a careful blend of all these ingredients tantalizing tastes. Others are served with something to help deal with the overpowering spiciness. For example, Tom Yum Goong, which is sour and spicy, is often paired with an omelet or rice. This could be the reason rice is always part of a Thai meal.

This is a beautiful downtown spot with great ambience, speedy, friendly service without hovering, and knockout delicious food. I had the tofu fried rice and it had good texture, plenty of flavor and was not oily. I left out egg and for me it was vegan. The price was right also.

Nice Thai eatery with sweet owners. We stopped by for dinner on weekday night. It was not too busy. The guy taking orders was very smiling and welcoming. Although he got a serious communication problem in English. We ordered crab Rangoon to start with. I ate ground chicken with basil that comes with rice on side. My friend ordered the same thing with a side of fried rice. And my another friend ate two types of sushi rolls. The sushi was decent. The friend rice was terrific. The ground chicken with basil was good, however, we couldn’t smell any basil in it! So we were confused, whether the order was rightly conveyed or not, as the waiter was not fluent in English! However, the entree dish was good. We ate medium spicy, which was no spicy at all! If you be are indian/ Asian, or if you can tolerate high spice level, then go for the ‘spicy’ option. Overall, the food was pretty decent.

Delicious appetizers, entrees, and dessert – each course we wanted the next. The service was the best part! Our waitress was so bubbly and as she poured our tea she said, “if you have time for tea, life is beautiful”. We loved the pumpkin custard and the chef also came out to tell us about the fried ice cream, which he served with apple to pair with our tea. Overall – so happy!

Service is very good, the waiter is very friendly always smiling and pays attention to everyone.I ordered red curry with beef, the vegetables and red sauce comes together and on top they place the meat, beef was cold. Got the crispy rolls as an appetizer but it tasted like frozen food. I was going to give 2 stars but the lady who served me was very nice, definitely makes a difference that I might come back to try the sushi.

Smelled like an old wet towel or wet bar mat–musty. We grew nose blind to it after about 20 minutes, but the food was fine. I’m not in the peas in the pangnang camp, but was okay. Heavy on the spice for a #3! Love Thai food though. Floorplan. There is no sushi even though the sign reads “Thai and sushi.”

The food is hit or miss. Some days my Pad Thai looks and tastes like it was seasoned with red Kool aid, other days it tastes like what I had in Bangkok. If you order tofu, check to make sure they did it right, it is a 50/50 chance you’ll get fried tofu when you ordered soft and vice versa. Customer service is always good though.

Update: even better type second time. More staff, more sauce. [previous] If all the take-out orders had been dine-in, we probably would have had a long wait. Service was super friendly if a bit hectic, but I always consider it a blessing if a business I like is, you know, *busy*. (Is that a pun?) Drunken noodles were excellent but could have used a splash more sauce. Can’t comment on beers or cocktails because we didn’t get a drink menu . Will be here again soon.

Great service and good warm food! The chicken pad Thai was delicious. They have public parking in front of the restaurant and it was so convenient. Traveling from Houston to Detroit and we choose a good place to have dinner.

They were very kind and accommodating. We had vegan orders with subtractions due to allergies and the orders came out perfectly. To the T. However, we ordered 40 minutes ahead of schedule and waited another 30+ upon arrival. Obviously there is a lot going on with the current situation and that is understandable but it was too long of wait,

We are on a weekend getaway to Memphis and got into town in time for a late lunch. Looked up places that looked dairy allergy friendly and settled on The Nine Thai Sushi thinking we would just grab sushi. Once we were seated we were told they are currently not serving sushi, but that wound up being a blessing. My guy got some of the best pad thai we have ever had and I got an amazing chicken salad. The owner was super cute, warm and friendly. We really enjoyed talking to her about pad thai and she even gave me tips on how to make mine better. Any time we are back in Memphis we are planning on going back.
