Went to Moorings tonight for dinner. This is not your regular dinner experience, this is Al and Moorings, you won’t find that anywhere else around but here in the Cape. The food is great and the athmosphere is awesome. Al tells you to go behind the bar and get your drink. He’s a very nice and friendly guy who runs this great place for decades already. It’s always a great experience to dine at Moorings. We will be back soon…!

This is a place with (quirky) character. In fact, I’d be hard-pressed to think of a place with more character. For some people, that’s going to be a turn off; for others, this place will feel like home.

Phenomenal experience. If you are looking for a local hit then this is it. I stumbled upon The New England Moorings by mistake when a neighboring seafood joint was too busy and I’m so glad I did.

Owner treated us like we were old friends. Funky, cool place. Definitely the most interesting restaurant in Cape Coral. I got the fish and chips and she got the Vegetarian plate. Both were excellent and generous. Don’t skip the dessert or dessert wine. Looking forward to returning.

AL made this experience one to remember! Great food, excellent service! He made us feel like family. I read in a previous comment about trump flags SO THE HELL WHAT! That did not make the food any less tasty or his interaction with us less entertaining and welcoming. I definitely recommend the #6 the appetizers are delicious. His IRISH CANOLI will have you in love. I can say anytime I am here in Cape Coral I will be making a stop for sure ❤️ Thank you AL for a great evening of laughter, history, and fun.

Awesome find! Great seafood, shellfish and Maryland crab cakes. Old Florida or Boston decor. Laid back but prompt service and a true experience of hospitality! Very highly rated for a reason…we’ll be back.

What a GREAT find!! Tucked a block off DelPrado so only us locals know they are there. Fab atmosphere; yummy and fresh seafood; outstanding service by Elizabeth; and special attention to detail from Al in the kitchen. Yep, going back to this place a lot!!!

We can’t say enough wonderful things about NEM. My husband and I went to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary and Al made it the most special night ever. Fantastic food, drinks and atmosphere. You must visit this hidden gem, which has become our new favorite place to dine. Fresh calamari fried to perfection, everything was fresh and delicious. Thank you for making our night so wonderful.

My wife and I were looking for a “different” type restaurant to celebrate our 33rd anniversary and by chance selected New England Moorings, primarily because of comments/reviews. On entering you get that Key West vibe sorely missed by us since we moved to the Cape from Fort Lauderdale. We were quickly seated outside and although the temp was near 90 we were comfortable with the large fans blowing full force. The drinks were top notch as was the food. We splurged on fried scrod, calamari, crabcake, fries, onion rings, veggies, breadsticks and Irish cannoli. The owner, Al, is a real treasure, serving us while sharing stories about his life and the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will return and bring others.

Its a unique restaurant and the food was delicious. We had a party of 4 and shared each other’s dishes. Everything was delicious. I normally don’t order crab cakes because they are usually more cake than crab. But here it was twice as much crab than cake. The owner will not serve anything that’s not fresh. He goes to the pier every day to purchase the fish he’s going to serve.
