The Mix Café is well-known for being comforting and creative through the guidance of founder Betsy Ferguson and owner/Chef Jesse Martinez. Menu items are prepared daily from scratch like the decadent Beast flourless chocolate cake, fall-apart Dr. Pepper pulled pork sandwich, and classic sides like homemade sweet potato fries, and grilled sprouts.

Even though a single food item should not cost $7; in light of today’s Biden-induced inflation the meal deal that includes a burrito, potatoes and a drink is a comparatively good value. They problem is deciding on one visit whether you want a sandwich–full or open-faced, salad, wrap or quesadilla.

These guys work hard and the food is amazing! The front server is kind and always asking, checking on the patrons. The go to is the hungry bear or duo combo, got to try it with the prime rib sandwich and lobster bisque. The lobster bisque is the best in Waco! The black and blue salad is divine. Highly recommend and I will fight anyone who says different!

I’ve come here several times for lunch, both dine in and to go. The stuffed avocado salmon has become my favorite dish – good seasoning and I feel like I’m eating healthy. They’re pretty fast and you can usually find a table, which always surprises me.

The place was quite busy whine inwas there during theunch rush and yet my order was 100% correct and it was hot and fresh and i didn’t even wait that long. I was super impressed with how they handled all the stress of the lunch rush. Alexis was a great friendly cashier who told me honestly about her favorites. Jonathan made sure we had everything at our table and that our orders were correct! Absolutely incredible customer service. The place was clean and the food was incredible. Hands down THE BEST SWEET POTATO FRIES I HAVE EVER HAD!! I will definitely be coming back soon for more fries! The grilled chicken pesto was also super delicious. I recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy a small local cafe with great food and service!

Found this place on Google maps just looking for somewhere fairly healthy. When we drove up & saw it was in a tiny little strip center we wondered if it would be good. But, you never know- sometimes a little “dive” can be great. Well this place is definitely worth a try! Friendly staff- EXCELLENT food & although the furnishings are simple it’s clean, comfortable and pleasant. I will definitely come here again when in Waco!
