The food and service used to be good at the Fresh Ketch. There must be new ownership or something? I have never written restaurant reviews before but this was so bad I thought I should warn people. I took a friend to Fresh Ketch for lunch and we were both very disappointed in our meals and service. Our cocktails (Bloody Mary) were sort of sweet and served with umbrellas.

The worst experience ever we waited 30 minutes before one of our party had to go and find a server. Then it took another 15 minutes to get our drinks despite we were steps from the bar. We were the only guests who needed serving. When we complained They finally told us their computer was down. We should have been told when we arrived so we could make other plans if we wanted. Two of us ordered twice baked potatoes. We were bought mashed potatoes and the dumb waitress argued they were twice baked potatoes. It was a shame because the location was perfect and the music was great. We asked to see the manager she refused to come out.

My mom and I had lunch there today, I ordered a rum runner and was given a margarita told the waitress that it was a fruit drink she brought the same one back with an orange it, it took 25 minutes before she came and took our order, we watched 4 different parties get up and leave because they never got waited on, our order was a prime rib French dip and a cup of clam chowder, and the cheese bread, our bill was $44 , I had to go get my sandwich, the after waiting 30 minutes for lunch, I was going to cancel and the she ( the waitress) oh just a minute. And handed me the plate.

I got very very sick there. Restrooms were very dirty, I knew this because I had to constantly vomit. Toilets had poop stains on on them. Sink, floor not cleaned. Disgusting!

Had friends in town, and they wanted to go so we gave it a shot. (This is not a local favorite, has a bad rep) There was nothing that impressed, in fact was maybe one of the worst resturant experiences ever! Service was slow, only 4 tables sat in the place, so no reason for tardiness. The waitress tried three times to bring the right order, ended up crying because she couldn’t get it right; we weren’t being rude about the wrong thing coming out either, she just had a break down. One of the dishes that was supposed to be rice instead of potatoes side was taken back and we watched the cook wipe it of the plate with his hand, with the same mashed potatoes hand and and throw rice on top the partial wiped off potatoes( some potatoes still on plate when returned). The plate looked a mess, no rim job or any care put in what so ever. 8 out of the 10 plates were either over cooked mis ordered or just tasted bad. I have been a chef and a waiter for a long time, I am not a fan of the service in Tahoe in general, but this was beyond bad experience. I will never go there again and won’t allow anyone I know to go there. Go anywhere but there!

Extremely terrible experience here on our last night of vacation. We ordered 2 appetizers and only one came out first. We heard the other appetizer called out in the kitchen that it was ready (fried oysters). As soon as they were called we heard a massive fight take place in the kitchen about the fried oysters that we still had not gotten yet. Many other customers were disgusted by the actions of the kitchen staff that we heard outside that they left the restaurant. The people next to us commented that their food tasted like lighter fluid. We got our dinners (still no fried oysters) and only 1 out of 4 people liked their meals. The clam chowder was awful, they missed half of the toppings on the tacos, all while listening to them swear in the kitchen at each other. FINALLY the fried oysters came out, but they were the ultimate disappointment. They were not your typical fried breaded oyster, they were 4 tiny oysters on the half shell. Four tiny little bites was sixteen dollars. Unacceptable kitchen staff, and unacceptable food. I will never recommend this restaurant. Definitely put a damper on our last night in Tahoe.

We stopped in for a bite to eat & a cocktail before our wine cruise. The bar/restaurant was very nice inside but it was a beautiful day so we sat outside. The cocktails we’re creative. We split an order of fish and chips. The food was good. Our server was attentive to our needs. I had done lobster bisque that was ok.

Can’t give 0 stars so gave 1. This place is absolutely awful. My entire family went to Tahoe for a vacation, and our last night here we decided to give this place a try. Had a reservation for 7:15, when we showed up they informed us it would be a couple of minutes before we could be seated. We ended up getting seated about 5 minutes after our reservation time, which was ok, even though the point of a reservation is to have a table set aside at your reserved time. We ordered drinks, and began to look at the menu (which is totally different then their online menu.) We ordered some appetizers. A few moments later the waitress came back and said she could take our order however it would be a bout an hour (is what she started to say) and then changed to 45 minutes before our food would be ready. UNACCEPTABLE. Part of my family was driving back to Portland, OR this night and to not even get served until after 8 (at the earliest was not ok.) The waitress claimed that they were busy (2 other tables were seated in the restaurant.) My mother explained this was not acceptable and we got up and left. Save yourself time, and $$$$ and go somewhere else.

The cocktail, blood and sand, tasted more like piss and dirt, undrinkable, then the beer I had to replace it was warm. The shrimp scampi just tasted like lemon juice and water, and the shrimp tasted like it was ordered precooked. The service was fine until I handed the server a large bill and then I was scowled at because she didn’t know how to break it. I heard the place was garbage just had to see for myself.
