Fantastic service, from the front of restaurant to the wait staff. Good food, though not amazing. Had the honey salmon, which was just okay. Had a mushroom side dish that was wonderful. Wife had a chickpea stew that was also good, but not amazing. Ambiance was just okay… super neat and historic building but the actual restaurant space had the full lights up, no live music, and had restaurant employees walking past our table all the time to access other parts of the restaurant. If they sit you along the closest wall, as you enter the restaurant, ask to be seated elsewhere as it is an extremely high traffic route.

The food was cold and some was warm and the food item not stock properly at all the stations. There was empty pans threw out the different stations. Plates missing at dessert table and empty food plates and not stock only 5 items and the ice cream was melting. The money I paid was outrageous for tonight meal. And to say the least it was not busy we went around 8:PM. So where was Management nowhere to be found. I would not recommend to my Friends Again or take them here.

I was on campus for a graduate school interview. We had lunch here at their lunch buffet. It was very good. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The desserts (especially the cheesecake) were so amazing! The atmosphere of the restaurant is very classy.

My husband had reservations for our Valentine’s day dinner her last evening and the menu, dinner and wait staff was incredible! The food was amazing from the first course all the way through dessert. It was our first time there and we both agreed that we will be back to try the regular menu.

Tough one to review. I enjoy going to the stately Nittany Lion Inn and the employees are cheerful with good attitudes, but it seems so poorly managed. I like to go to their popular brunch on football weekends – it’s a large and tasty buffet. I just don’t understand how they run it though – they don’t turn tables well – at any time from 930 to 11 – prime times there were about a third of the tables empty while the hallway outside was overflowing with people waiting to be seated. They only had one over-whelmed car valet at 930 am of a Homecoming weekend – did they not know that people would be trying check out, leave and get their cars while others are coming for the brunch? Maybe the managers need to go back to Penn State’s Hotel Restaurant Management School? Or maybe get some folks from there. Don’t even start with the half hour omelet station line…

Three golfing buddies and I stopped into the NLI for dinner after a day of golfing nearby. We were dressed for golf and the dining room is more elegant. However, we were kindly greeted, seated and served great meals and drink. Service was very good and I made sure my server knew I appreciated her good service with a generous tip. I recommend, if you find yourself in Happy Valley, stop into the NLI and enjoy.

Fine linen, formal settings, upscale menu selections, great views, location on the corner of campus, free parking validation at deck next door. Seating from 6-person rooms up to over 50 in each space. Buffet selections are great for most palates and saves time and money over ordering from the menu.

The Nittany Lion Inn has been around the area for a long time and their dining has never been a problem. The food was well cooked and to order, the wait staff was well trained, and there were no outstanding issues in the event that I attended.

C’mon, Lions; if you have not yet been here, you cannot call yourself a Nittany Lion. Have been doing this Inn for at least 50 years and the quality NEVER changes. The waitstaff are not part-timers. They are food majors and know they have to be the best. The chef(s) could work ANYWHERE in the industry, believe me.

Service was very nice. Atmosphere was that of a nursing home and the food was maybe slightly better. I was so disappointed with many aspects but the waitress was very nice.
