BBQ restaurant on Pere Marquette beach in Muskegon. We’re located at The Ovals on the Pere Marquette beach, so you can head to the deck right after a swim in the lake! You don’t need to be dry to join us, you’re always welcome to take a load off and enjoy our slow-smoked barbecue and a cold drink. Summer is for relaxing, so head on down to the beach! Summer is never a bummer in Muskegon. As a famous beachtown, the Pere Marquette beach hosts flocks of residents and tourists alike! We love the lake and that’s why we chose to have our location right on the beach, and we’re Muskegon’s only beach-front restaurant! Don’t worry about dressing up all fancy, all you need are shoes, a shirt, and pants!

We made a pit stop during our drive back to Chicago to enjoy a meal. All the dishes we ordered were very good. The walleye had a pleasant crispy texture, while the ceviche burst with flavor. The mac & cheese, however, was a bit overly cheesy for my taste. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous. The service we received was outstanding; our waitress was incredibly attentive and friendly. Additionally, the restaurant is welcoming to dogs.

The waiter Alvaro was awesome, the smoked turkey and pulled pork sliders were amazing. We also very much enjoyed the walleye Tacos. The view with the cool breeze from lake Michigan on a hot July day made the perfect day for lunch on the beach.

The Queso with Guacamole was delicious with lots of great cheesy flavor. The Nashville Chicken Beach Tacos were tangy, spicy and crispy from the toppings, and the Nashville and Jalapeno sauces. My wife liked her Nachos but realized without the meat there was not much flavor to it. My son liked his Nashville Chicken Sandwich, but thought the sauce could be spicier. Our server was attentive and helpful. Unfortunately the very cool breeze from the unseasonable weather while sitting outside on the deck made this a good but not great experience.

If you’re stopping at Pere Marquette beach (or even if you’re not), this is a great place to grab food and drinks. Excellent BBQ ( try the 50/50 sandwich). Great location, food and service. Bella was our server and was awesome.

We were in town to visit Michigan Adventure and needed a place to stop to eat! Thank goodness we did because this place was amazing. The atmosphere, the food, the staff it was all around fantastic. We had our 5 kids ages 2-14 and they absolutely loved it too. The live music was also great, we stayed for a couple hours! The sweet potato nachos were the best, so so so good. We ordered a bunch of things and it was all great. We will definitely be back if we are ever in town!

I went to the deck the other night and I had a wonderful experience with my partner and my dog. We showed up pretty late around 10:30 they were going to close at 11 so we ordered at 2 take out when do something simple not to press the kitchen. We received two sliders a piece each received fry and a drink. We took our food and we went and sat on the swings with our dog and enjoy the view along with the facility and the vibe and the food wasn’t too bad either.

This place is as good of a pub as you’ll find anywhere. Check out the pictures people have posted, the scenery is spectacular. They have plenty of wait staff and the California Salad was delicious. It seems like they have regular live music, so if your idea of a great time is relaxing at the beach with delicious food and drinks you don’t have to wait for, then this is THE place to go
