I must say…….. I had fun, not too many people I love that, my hubby says he did not like the grape pb&j shot he says the regular is better to him the grape kind of tastes weird but the smell definitely smelled like the grape was over powering the peanut butter, perhaps I should have been the bartender I love even flavors out, but over all it was great!!! The chicken gizzards were absolutely amazing!!! “HEY, YOU GUY OUT THERE THAT EAT CHICKEN GIZZARDS REGULAR” TRY IT WITH PARMESAN SAUCE ON THEM INSTEAD OF ON THE SIDE ANS CHOOSE RANCH FOR DIPPING SAUCE. IT BOTH TASTES GREAT TOGETHER YOY GET TWO FLAVORS IN ONE… OMG so Anyways let’s get into the WINGS !!!! I picked jack Daniels, he picked kick bourbon flavor… The Kick bourbon was sooo freaking pretty and glazed OMG yummy and the the Jack Daniels looked more burnt and was on the not to fulfilling far as flavor, it’s still missing something, maybe sesame seeds and less burnt I guess I don’t know but I still enjoyed it. I got chicken Alfredo it was definitely creamy, but not as cheesy and on the regular side, it was satisfactory I just wish they had Cajun flavor chicken Alfredo that would have been Amazing!!!! overall I give I give it a good 4 start and that’s including the very annoying Nats that were flying around.

Went there on a weekday for lunch and the restaurant was not busy at all. We were the only group waiting to be seated, and the only person working there who I guess was also the bartender looked at us and went back to the kitchen… After he came out of the kitchen he looked at us again and went to the bar without a word. We waited there for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged. This was the most bizarre experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. But it looks like this is normal business practice according to them because I saw at least two other reviews commenting on the same thing, being ignored and walking out. So… Are these positive reviews even real? I seriously don’t know how the same person is capable of acting friendly and attentive to certain people and completely the opposite to other people. Or perhaps he doesn’t like the way we look

I enjoy their fried cheese curds and fried pickle spears. The donuts for dessert are simple and delicious. There are plenty of food options for a main course. If you enjoy “bar” food, and don’t want a “bar” atmosphere, go early in the day and have some great food. If you like it more lively, leave small kids at home, and have a fun evening out. They sometimes have live music, games (only if you want to play), and other entertainment in the evenings.

I’ve had their wings before and my wife was wanting to go so I said sure. I was greatly disappointed and will not be returning. The Buffalo wings had no sauce and were basically dry. The parm garlic wings were basically tossed in a heavy parmesean cream dressing…blah. the nachos…which I was craving was basically 12 tortilla chips with 1 cup of sour cream and 1 cup of nacho cheese. Worse nachos I’ve ever had for $15. About twice the price as bdubs.

Overall, decent food. I would eat here again. Fries were delicious. Philly Cheesesteaks was good. Half rack of ribs were delicious, nice portion, meat fell off bones. Wings were so so. We have been here twice and we absolutely love it! The wings were delicious, best we have ever had in Iowa. The sides were also great! Good selection of beer on tap and a fun atmosphere! It’s a great place to watch sports as well. Very friendly staff! We will absolutely be back here for more wings!

The Chicken Coop has a good menu for a bar but also for take out. We enjoyed the chicken wings and the Santa Fe chicken salad. We got a combination of the spicy dry rub and kicked bourbon on the wings. The spicy rub was hot! While dry, it did feel more moist than traditional dry rubs. But again, this flavor is packing some serious heat. The kicked bourbon was a nice balance to the heat. The Santa Fe chicken salad had a good crisp with nicely season chicken.

My husband and I ordered wings with sweet rub. These were not suppose to be spicy, but were too spicy for us. We call Restaurant, no answer several times. Called a different location, they said we were right. What we ordered shouldn’t have been spicy. Gave up calling the original Restaurant. Will never return to this location.

Hot d@mn the food at this family business is amazing! Prices are low compared to the high quality and flavor you get. I was traveling through Iowa and stopped by to get some local food here. Ridiculously good wings, onion rings and burgers. I was sad knowing that I would be leaving town in the morning and wouldn’t be able to eat here the next day. Wow. Highly recommend their wings! Don’t bother going to a chain restaurant- this is the place for awesome food. 5 Stars ✌
