I recently had the opportunity to enjoy a late breakfast here, and I must say that my experience was quite enjoyable. Despite it being 1pm, they graciously served breakfast options, which was a pleasant surprise.

The service was great but the food does not taste all that good. I was disappointed in the food since the restaurant has such a high rating. The salad has thin Shredded lettace of regular lettace. The tomatoes were mushy.

Family group of 11 cousins and spouses met for lunch. We had reservations. Food was excellent and plentiful. Staff was very friendly. We stayed for 2 hours and they seemed fine with that. Will definitely go back.

We had a breakfast plate (at lunch) and a grilled Chicken Salad. Both were great. They serve Neese’s Country Sausage. Servings were generous and wait staff well-trained. We’ll be back here soon.

Placed an order an hour before they closed. The lady who answered the phone put my order in as the daily special. When I arrived to pay, they said they no longer were serving that. I politely asked them to honor that special price, they would not. The owner (presumed) came out and said they were too busy and was extremely rude. Been there once. Will NOT go back. The manager/owner was entirely too rude to be in the position she is in! Hospitality Industry? Politeness? Treat customers respectfully, especially when he/she is right!

This place has been around for years and there’s a reason for that. The food is fabulous. I always look forward to a meal here. Good variety and quality food. The cheese and pickle tray is one of my absolute favorites, although it has shrunk quite a bit over the years. It’s still a real treat.

Now, keep in mind that I am 55 years old, and I have been on the internet most of my life, and this is my first negative review. After my husband left a medical procedure, he asked me where I wanted to have lunch, and I said The Carriage House. So we went after several discussions and we were met by a friendly staff. To get to the end, he ordered a medium 24-ounce ribeye steak. I watched him purposefully and eagerly to eat the steak. I could tell by him constantly cutting and tearing the meat apart that he was not happy. I noticed that the meat was dark red and bloody… far from medium. We told our waitress about it and she said she would show the cook. We told her that we would pay for everything except the steak, and we didn’t want another one. At checkout, they took $5 off the bill. After we said we would not pay for the full price, the manager said she would call the police. Well, I was so embarrassed we paid just to get out of there. Yes, he said a few words, and we left. That really happened. I have been there before with good food and service, but today will prevent me from ever going there again. I could say more, but I am tired of giving this much attention to them on my day off.
