We went for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. The ambience was that of a period speakeasy with a “bookstore” in the front and the restaurant and bar in the back. Food and drink menus, rules, receipts were all in books. Along with the history of the place. I had a great time. Live music is always a treat.

I happen to be in the Bethelem area for work and decided to have dinner and cocktails at the Bookstore. I have to say that it was a the best experienced I have had at a speakeasy bar.

We had a great Saturday night date here. We didn’t have a full meal but went for drinks and dessert. They did not disappoint at all. The tiramisu was delicious and the live music really made for an amazing atmosphere. We can’t wait to go back

Don’t want to give away their secrets, so I’ll leave it to you to explore for yourself *winks*! I can say though, that the food was perfectly portioned, the live music was swinging, the drinks were period reminiscent with just enough modern flair to not be over the top, and the staff was top notch. Well worth the drive and reservation to experience this landmark speakeasy that has been serving the Lehigh Valley since Prohibition!

Cute little place with great food and good drinks. Highly recommend the chickpea popcorn. Make a reservation a few days in advance; the place filled up quickly. Docking a star for very slow service. We had a great time regardless and enjoyed our meals.

The food was Delicious. The service was terrible. The atmosphere is appropriate for a speakeasy except that I don’t think it was clean. The waitress forgot her appetizer and then gave us the wrong cocktail. The bartender gave us the wrong cocktail.

I love it here! The atmosphere is so unique and cozy. The drinks are incredible. There was live jazz music being played while we were there and it created the perfect vibe. VERY crowded but I’m not surprised because our experience was amazing. We will definitely be back.

I love this place! I haven’t been in many years, but it is still fantastic. Great cozy atmosphere, staff is fantastic (especially Sean, Max, and Linda (I think?!)!! The food was delish and the drinks were a flavor explosion with every sip! Definitely recommend, especially for an intimate date night. Weekend evenings, live jazz just makes the whole experience perfect!

Went for drinks at 10:30pm, after getting seated we did not have any waitstaff come by for 15 minutes. Then we waited another 45 min and had no drinks yet. Staff came by and apologized and had a few different reasons as to why our drinks had been lost or taking so long. But other tables that got sat WAY after us got their drinks before us. They managed to bring a round of sampler drinks from the menu before our ordered drinks… why spend the time to make those and not our drinks?? Eventually, at 11:45, we got our order, but they close at 12. They then brought a few food items and did not charge us anything for the night. That was kind of them, only reason they are getting a second star. Drinks were not very good anyways, the strangest experience I’ve ever had at a bar! The band was a fun atmosphere though, if the drinks you order are good and you get timely service.
