I love this place! I haven’t been in many years, but it is still fantastic. Great cozy atmosphere, staff is fantastic (especially Sean, Max, and Linda (I think?!)!! The food was delish and the drinks were a flavor explosion with every sip! Definitely recommend, especially for an intimate date night. Weekend evenings, live jazz just makes the whole experience perfect!

This place was absolutely magical. I love a speakeasy and especially with a thorough theme. When you walk through the door of the Bookstore Speakeasy you feel like you’re going back in time. All of the decor gives you plenty to look at. If you’re coming with a group I recommend making a reservation the space isn’t really large and it seems like on busy nights, they won’t be able to accommodate walkins. We were lucky enough to go see it at the bar, which is the best place to get all of the suggestions from the amazing bartender, Max. Shaniece was a wonderful server.

They have something for everyone whether you want something sweet, boozy, citrus, or floral. Max make some experimentations based on what you are eating or your flavor pallet. We enjoyed the coconut shrimp and also the rum punch, a scotch cocktail, and a dessert spirit. I cannot wait to return.

I happen to be in the Bethelem area for work and decided to have dinner and cocktails at the Bookstore. I have to say that it was a the best experienced I have had at a speakeasy bar.

Haley was the bartender and he took care of the experience, the first cocktail was the New Fashion followed by an experimental Sidecar and a Expresso Manhattan. For dinner I had the skirt steak with fried plantains which was cooked right on had a perfect chimichurri sauce to pair it. Haley recommended the chick pea popcorn and I was blow away for the texture and the flavor of these. After dinner I had a few other cocktails while enjoying the live jazz music.

Finalized the night with a tiramisu.

The ambiance was fantastic, I will definitely be back here with friends and family when in the area!!!

Don’t want to give away their secrets, so I’ll leave it to you to explore for yourself *winks*! I can say though, that the food was perfectly portioned, the live music was swinging, the drinks were period reminiscent with just enough modern flair to not be over the top, and the staff was top notch. Well worth the drive and reservation to experience this landmark speakeasy that has been serving the Lehigh Valley since Prohibition!

Cute little place with great food and good drinks. Highly recommend the chickpea popcorn. Make a reservation a few days in advance; the place filled up quickly. Docking a star for very slow service. We had a great time regardless and enjoyed our meals.

It is a unique experience. Really interesting (and expensive) cocktails. Amazing bartenders doing weird things like burning stuff and getting the smokey essence on your glass before making your drink, or maybe burning some of the alcohol off your Absinthe. Like stepping back in time. Often live jazz.

THE TIRAMISU WAS SUPERB!

Atmosphere was very…different, but pleasant. The entrance is on a side street, in a hidden side door with no knob. Looks sketchy, but I think that’s the point

Live music was good too (I went on a Friday night around 9 PM)

I ordered the skirt steak
It was “eh”, 3/5

BUT THE TIRAMISU is not my standard to beat. 7/5!!!!
It was topped with whipped cream, which when I saw it, I was thinking it wasn’t going to end well.

But BAAAAABY!
It’s eat that cream by the bowl with some fresh fruit any day.

Overall, it was cool.
I’d come again for the tiramisu and cream.

We went for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. The ambience was that of a period speakeasy with a “bookstore” in the front and the restaurant and bar in the back. Food and drink menus, rules, receipts were all in books. Along with the history of the place. I had a great time. Live music is always a treat.
We dressed up because it was a special event, but no pressure to do too much in the future.
We had the fries for the appetizer and forgot about to take a pic of main meal. Portions weren’t huge, but no need.
We will definitely go back.
