We tried this place without being able to find a menu. I am so glad we did. For an appetizer, we had the cheese bites. They were a nice basket full and very good. The bites come with a spicy ranch and we we’re offered a traditional ranch too. For dinner I had the rueben. It was yummy although I will ask for extra sauerkraut next time. My husband had the fish and chips and enjoyed it as well. They have bananas foster and peach foster made tableside, but we declined as we were very full. It did look appetizing and we are planning to try it next time. We were offered a taste of the homemade whip cream as a temptation and it was awesome. All the staff, including our server, were very nice and helpful. In the beginning of our meal the overhead lighting was flickering. Before we had a chance to ask, I saw a person attempting to fix it. It did get much better. I like how open the restaurant was and it’s has a lot of charm with the high ceilings and metal staircase. There is also a back bar we peaked in on our way out that had an English pub appearance.

First time here. Walked in and was impressed that this was actually a venue type of establishment. Stage, lights, open floor plan. Went to the bar for brunch and was greeted right away by a warm smile and a friendly face, Brandon. He was Informative and so friendly. I had a couple of top shelf bloody marys. My partner had two Mic Utra and we both ordered the Ribeye steaks with eggs and hash brown potatoes for our Brunch meal. There was a mishap with my first plate and a recook was needed. The owner a beautiful silver haired woman came over introduced herself and apologized, My new plate was perfect. Steak cooked as requested and juicy. We really enjoyed our meal and time here at The boathouse. We will definitely come back now that we know it’s here. Perfect service by Brandon made for the four star review.

I have eaten here over a dozen times. I have tried something different every time it all the food has been amazing! The staff is always polite and wonderful! They also have very good drinks at the bar. It is a great place to have a family dinner and grab a drink or two.

We went for Father’s Day Brunch and had reservations. Most of your group got the buffet but we decided to order from the menu. Coffee took about 15 minutes to get and after waiting over 30 minutes for pancakes and eggs and a steak we were told the kitchen was behind. They had the pancakes and eggs on the buffet but somehow we could not get ours. The lady came to us and said you should have just gone up and gotten some. Well didn’t pay for the buffet and some restaurants will charge you for a buffet if you go up. Our group had already finished their meal by this time and I informed them to just cancel our order as we would be going elsewhere. The reviews are good but just not what we experienced. Please be advised that on days they have the breakfast brunch you can only order from a limited menu as the full menu is not available.

Went for an event and it was very disorganized, and the owner was not listening to any of the staff or clients. The bartenders were extremely understaffed, but were friendly and professional just the same . I feel bad for the staff here but maybe it’s an anomaly for such a busy night. Would be willing to come back for brunch but don’t have very high expectations.

My wife had tried here earlier in the week and recommended it for dinner the following weekend. She had the chicken tenders again and I had the ribeye special. I (and her) thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. My steak was perfectly prepared (medium), my wife’s tenders were also done to her liking. The service was top notch. My glass was quickly refilled when empty (a big thing for me). I will be back.

The Boathouse is easily becoming our favorite restaurant in Elizabeth City. We stopped by for brunch and the steak and eggs were perfection! Best steak we’ve had in a long while and always great service. We’ll be back again soon for dinner and the green sangria!
