8/23/23 first time here. The other reviews that note how loud it is are correct. We walked in and had to wait at the hostess station for 5 minutes while she was on the phone… So yeah, it was so loud in the bar area & i was glad to have made a reservation on the dining room side but it was only a little less noisy.

I’m going to outline our entire dining experience from start to finish. We arrived to try The Albatross for the first time and were met with a pleasant but aloof and confused hostess. The restaurant was clean and well appointed but extremely loud. Louder than any sports bar. The hostess sat us and introduced us to our server, a young man. He was also equally as pleasant but clearly over worked and under appreciated. We selected the calamari as our appetizer and it had absolutely no flavor and minimal to no seasoning. Our entrees were equally under flavored and my wife’s special, a chicken piccata dish, looked like hospital food. I chose the pork tenderloin and it was the only food item that would suffice as a “country club” appropriate. Unfortunately, this place has completely burned two avid restaurant goers. Strictly my opinion but the only reason the doors are still open are because of the bar and alcohol loving golfers.

Never had a bad meal. Service is good, sometimes slower due to volume. But well worth the wait. Only complaint is there is no coke products. But iced tea is good. Homemade chips are fantastic.

Went there with my husband and had an amazing experience!! The Steak was amazing and OMG THE CHEESECAKE (I will let you enjoy it’s perfect taste)!!! We honestly had a beautiful dinner and for once I didn’t feel like I was overdressed!:) The food was so good that it was gone (in a classy manner) within minutes! All the waiters were so amazing! And lastly, the new owner walked around and talked to everyone in such an amazingly welcome way. Truly made us feel special!

My friend and I went for the prime rib special. We heard how good it was. Wow, like most of the restaurants in Highlands county it left a lot to be desired. $34 for a below average cut of meat, no baked potatoes offered and no bread. After the meal our waiter told me that if you have a reservation then you can have the bread. We did have reservations but were not aware we would have to tell our waiter. Nice decor and TV sets to watch sports. Won’t be back.

Food was delicious Service was good. Loved it all except the volume of the place. So loud you have to shout to have a conversation with your dinner companion

The french onion soup and the fish n chips were out of this world. My son had the Rib sandwich and I tried the rib itself. Also amazing. Service was good as well. Absolutely recommend.
