On the way to Abraham Lincoln’s Birthplace National Park, we stopped downtown for dinner. This is the first visit for me.

Wow! We are always impressed when we go to the 16th! Joe knows how to prepare and present food, make you feel welcome and make sure everyone has a great time. The food is amazing and I’ve yet to get something that I didn’t like. This is a small establishment with daily specials and the yummiest freshly made desserts anywhere, try the pecan pie or the pictured cookies and cream cake!

Tried The 16th for the first time today and was not disappointed. The food quality was some of the best I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. Everything was flavored just right. I had the pork tenderloin with crispy brussel sprouts & roasted vegetable melody. Y’all.. I wanted to lick the plate. My wife had a salad that was good also. The pecan pie and Mary Todd pie are fantastic. The prices are a little high (but what isn’t these days) the quality makes it worth it. Great Job, Hodgenville needed this. Casual enough for jeans and t-shirt but fancy enough I would be proud to host guest or a date night here.

Food was good, I got the Chicken Strips, with Fries and Mashed Potatoes. Simple meal for my first time. Food took about 10 minutes at the most. As I waited my drink was constantly refilled. Great staff.

This place was great! We stopped in for lunch after leaving Lincoln’s Birthplace. The staff were very nice & super accommodating to my girlfriend’s dietary needs & she loved the pork tenderloin. I had the Hot Brown & was very impressed. The highlight was definitely the pecan pie for dessert!

What a great spot to find in this small town! We stopped in for lunch right before a visit to Lincoln’s Birthplace. Atmosphere was clean and peaceful. I had my first ever Hot Brown, finished with a fantastic Mornay sauce, would definitely get it again. Sides were excellent as well, we had the fries and Mac and Cheese. Would definitely come back to visit Joe and his team when we’re in the area again!

Ate here during an overnight stay to visit the Abraham Lincoln Park. It was one of three places recommended by the hotel clerk. When arriving we noticed several groups outside waiting which gave the impression they were in demand and busy. We were told about a 20m wait, turned out to be about a 45m but that was ok as it gave us time to review the one page menu. The place is not that big, looks like two old retail stores made into one business with the dividing wall still up; one side for waiting and one side for dining. The dining room had about 16 tables, which is what caused the wait. The food: homemade potato chips with cheese, 8 oz filet, and shrimp was oversold to say the least. We did not finish the mains because of taste. The shrimp was breaded with no flavor and left a greasy after taste, the filet (supposed to be a filet mignon) was thin, flat, fatty, and a smell that you could tell it was cooked on a flat grill with their weekly catfish special. For what we ordered, they charged $75. For what we got it should have been $30. At least we tried it, but I don’t think we will eat there again. I fully support local businesses, but this place needs to update their seating, layout, and food preparation and presentation as a current weakness on their SWOT.

Such a great addition to Hodgenville. It’s so nice to have a quieter restaurant to eat at with non fast foods! Steak is on the menu

Okay. Beautiful restaurant. Extremely nice server. The food was delicious. The only thing is that the prices were extremely high. $9.99 for a small piece of bread pudding and $12.99 for 5 small green tomatoes…little to expensive for the portion you receive.

Service was great as well as the atmosphere. The appetizers were good also but I ordered the Catfish dinner and my fish was very wet, kind of soggy. And my friend’s fish was dry. Not sure what the deal was. It’s also a little pricey for the small size portions that they serve.
