We stopped in this afternoon for a quick lunch. We were greeted and sat immediately. Everyone was very friendly, our service was prompt and polite. The atmosphere was very clean, crisp, relaxed. The complimentary strawberry muffins were a nice touch.

We ordered the Gettysburger and the fried chicken sandwich, both with fries.

The good: the food was made to order, came out hot, fresh and correct. The fries were terrific, we loved the toasted buns. The portions were generous and the produce on the burger was fresh and delicious.

The mediocre: the chicken and burger both were slightly underwhelming, truth be told. They were right, and fresh, good size portions … but they were under seasoned. And maybe this was our fault for not specifically asking, but neither sandwich had a “sauce.” No mayo, no ketchup or mustard on the burger, no hot honey or spicy mayo on the chicken. I’m just not used to specifying a sauce on a “dressed” burger. They weren’t bad by any means- They just sort of fell flat.

We had a good experience overall, we would likely try again maybe for a dinner meal or something other than a sandwich. The service was so, so good. I can’t say enough nice things about that.

So by all means- give them a shot. Just… make sure you request a sauce for your sandwich. 🙂

We came in for Sunday Brunch. They had a few tables reserved, but we were offered one of those tables if we could eat before the groups showed in an hour. Plenty of good options on the menu that it was hard to choose which one I wanted. I had the Lincoln Farmboy Breakfast and my husband had the Sausage Breakfast Bowl. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. We’ll be back again!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! All of our food was absolutely delicious! Also, a big shout out to our server Brian! He was very friendly and on point with service! This was the best overall experience we have had at a restaurant in a very long time. We already decided that we will be back next week to try the ribeyes!

I wish I would have taken a picture of how amazing the food looked! My wife and I came in at 10:00 a.m. this morning for brunch. We were the first customers today on February 1st. We have been in plenty of times. My wife sometimes works there part-time as a server.

Today we both ordered the eggs benedict. She had her eggs scrambled, I had mine over easy. We were informed by our server that the owner, Joe, was all alone in the kitchen so there may be a little wait. It felt like no time at all as we enjoyed our coffee!

I felt compelled to write a review today because of how amazing the service, and quality of the food is every time we visit. I was especially impressed today by the work ethic of Joe the owner, and Brian our server. For an owner to cook everything that we ordered by himself, and perfectly executed, really shows the heart of the man Behind the grill! No exaggeration, there were zero issues, and everything was cooked to Perfection and I cannot stress that enough! They really worked hard today as usual.

Midway through our meal, two other parties came in to dine at brunch. They also were served in a timely manner with First Rate quality! This restaurant is top tier and I will continue to recommend to all I speak to about food in Hodgenville. Very reminiscent of the old style Whistle Stop in Glendale. In my opinion, no one else comes close on this side of the state! Very well done to all the staff! Five stars and two thumbs way up! I love the family feeling we get every time we step into the 16th.

One last special Touch worth mentioning, Joe himself came out to our table to explain our wait time, which again was no time at all in our opinion, and he personally checked on the quality of what he had prepared for us moments earlier. You really don’t find ownership like this anymore! Someone who is willing to get their hands dirty, and also deliver customer service and check on customer satisfaction just about every time we come in to dine! We will definitely be back as soon as possible. Extraordinary performance and Pat’s on the back to everyone present this morning February 1st, 2026! God bless y’all

I thought long and hard about giving this review. This place is WONDERFUL, so I don’t want to get the word out. At the same time they deserve to be well known. If they were in ELIZABETHTOWN you would be lucky if you got in to enjoy the food, the experience, and charm. We will be back. Today we had samples from bunch and lunch. Next dinner! I’m so pleased with this lovely place and hope that we can always get a table.

EXCEPTIONAL! Appetizers are unique and delicious, salads are very fresh with house made ranch that really set it over the top and all of our entrees were to die for! Brian was our server with an amazing service experience as well. 15-20 min from Elizabethtown and WELL worth the drive. We will be frequent guests!

Such an amazing cozy spot. The atmosphere is so comforting and relaxed. The food was absolutely amazing. The fried green tomatoes are the best, haven’t had them this good since my grandmother made them. The staff was super attentive, my glass never got half full and we were checked to make sure we didn’t need anything. Truly a great place to visit. The hot brown was amazing and the burger was really good especially with the fried green tomatoes. I highly recommend checking them out.

Great little gem in Hodgenville. Tasteful decor, nice ambient music, excellent service, and great food! We were visiting Bardstown from Chicago and had a wonderful experience on a Saturday night. Our party had seared ahi tuna, steaks, fettuccine Alfredo, pork tenderloin, pickle fries, peppermint cheesecake, & pineapple upside down cake. BYOB. Will definitely be back- worth the trip!

Ate brunch on a Sunday here, so I can’t speak for other times. Good atmosphere and service. Food was good, not perfect but not everything always can be. Muffins we got were a bit dry and crumbly and there were different varieties of blueberry and banana. Wish we had known that but the server never mentioned it when putting them on the table.

Not a lot of options for a small stomach. It seems most brunch options are created for big meals only. There was one smaller option of biscuits and gravy (just white gravy, not a sausage gravy… weird for a Southern comfort food place not to have that…) And lunch options are also geared for a big meal unless you want salad. Chicken and waffles also don’t have any syrup option beyond plain-Jane sugar syrup. Not the end of the world but kind of abnormal from my experience with that dish.

I know it sounds like I’m dissing this but I’m not, they are the minor niggling points to what was almost a 5-star experience. All the food (minus those muffins) we got was cooked very well and quite tasty.
