We came here for my husband’s birthday. Anna our server took very good care of us. The wine, beer and cocktail were crisp and refreshing. The spiced Gulf shrimp were plump and delicious. The cornbread was hot and had a nice crunch. The rigatoni was zesty and flavorful. Everyone enjoyed their entrees of striped bass, short ribs, and bistro steak. Each dish was beautifully presented and delicious. The desserts of chocolate and orange pudding and cheesecake brûlée were the perfect ending to our celebration.

We love coming here. The food tastes amazing and is very different from regular restaurants. My husband isn’t as much of a foodie, so he ordered the hamburger and it was delicious. We love sitting in the patio area on a bear, sunny day. It’s just gorgeous out there. They have coverings so the tables are shaded. Our waiter was very attentive and polite. The food is a little pricey, but if you love to try different foods, this is for you. We parked in a nearby parking garage as parking in the streets seems to always be full. The desserts are fabulous!

Being from the area, I absolutely love this building. Whatever is in it, comes second…just kidding. Thatcher & Rye is nicely situated on Market Street. They have such a wonderful outdoor space and inside is also beautiful. If you’re looking for a nice dinner out or to simply treat yourself to a nice date night, make a reservation! The wine list has some really nice options. The food was delicious, just bit too salty this one night. Other than that, I highly recommend.

Thacher and Rye is easily my favorite restaurant in Frederick with food, service and atmosphere on par with some of the top restaurants I’ve visited across the country. Undoubtedly the best cocktail program in town with a great balance of well executed classics and ever changing seasonal options. This is my wife and I’s go-to spot whether it’s a weeknight happy hour, weekend date night or entertaining friends from out of town.

Simply amazing. My partner and I came here for lunch on a weekend. New to us and thought we would try it. The butternut squash ravioli was the best pasta I’ve had. Depth of flavor, nice texture, and the goat cheese inside made for a delightful touch. The gulf shrimp appetizer was seasoned but you could still taste the shrimp. It was paired with 2 tasty sauces. The espresso martini was full of coffee flavor but not overwhelming. Our server was friendly, helpful, and fast. Absolutely everything about this experience was a joy. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Very well known restaurant in the heart of downtown Frederick, MD. We had been wanting to dine here for a while so we went for my birthday. The food is as delicious as one would expect, with the Tuna Tartare, Ravioli, and Wagyu steak especially good choices. The Wagyu was cooked to perfection and the portion was generous. My issue with this restaurant was that it isbery pricey. One would expect food in a quality establishment such as this to be expensive. However, we’ve had much better deals in actual Michelin restaurants in Washington DC (see Rooster & Owl, for example). We want to be supportive of the dining scene in Frederick and still would recommend a visit for a special occasion.

My husband and I used to go to Volt with tremendous enthusiasm, but when Bryan Voltaggio reopened it as Thatcher and Rye our experiences, once for dinner and once for lunch, were sub-par. The menu then was similar to Showroom’s but the prices were higher, so for almost two years we saw no reason to return. Because it was my birthday and we had three years worth of gift cards from a dear friend, we chose to make a reservation tonight, and we were blown out of the water.

Didn’t have any expectations going into this date night dinner and it ended up being one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time! Our server was really helpful when we couldn’t decide between two items and he never steered us wrong! Will happily come back and dine again any time!

Recently, my wife and I dined at Thacher & Rye for the first time. We were not sure what to expect, but regardless of what those expectations might have been, this place exceeded them. The atmosphere was warm and inviting from the moment we walked in the front doors. The hostess that greeted us was friendly and helpful.

We had an amazing date night at T&R! The food was amazing and the service matched. I got the salmon which was great but I have to say my husbands ribeye was phenomenal. It came with the creamiest mashed potatoes I ever had. They brought out these corn bread Madeline’s which were amazing. Their buns were also delicious and the drinks were well crafted. Highly recommend.
