You’re missing out if you haven’t been to Tavern on 52. Best food I’ve had in a long time with great prices. Atmosphere is lacking but that’s not important to me. Chef always comes out to greet us and goes above and beyond. You will not be disappointed.

The food is good and the service was great. They need to make their menu more focused. They are Spanish and should focus on that. The place itself used to be a bar/tavern. Lots of old dark wood. The place could use a facelift.

So fresh and delicious ❤ This was my second time here. I was in the restaurant industry for 28 years. I am very picky as to were I eat. You can tell the owners put love and pride into there food. I had the chorizo tacos. It was topped with onion, avacado, tomatoes and cilantro. If you like it spicy, ask for a side of there homemade hot sauce. Yummm!!! For dessert we had a cup of columbian coffee and churros with vanilla bean ice cream. I love this place ❤

This place is amazing, I am a vegan and the chef cater to my liking. My family enjoyed their selection. If you love authentic food, please come by and have a meal.

Wow! Everything was amazing! Not your typical tavern food. It may not look like much from the outside but the minute you walk in you’re treated like a VIP. Everyone is so friendly and smiling. The chef even came out and talked to everyone. We had empanadas, tostones, Cuban sandwich, mofongo, and churros. It was delicious! Even my 8yr old nephew can’t wait to go back. We will be regulars now for sure!

Food was amazing with great flavor. My husband and I love Latin food. This place has tons of flavor. We are from CT and would travel back for the great food and service. We enjoyed the mofongo and tacos for dinner. Loaded fries as an appetizer was very delicious.

Again second time here not disappointed! The new owners are Charming the entire family delightful. The dishes were savory, cooked perfectly to order and plentiful. My dining partner wanted something authentic and not necessarily on the menu the chef came and spoke to her and prepared something specific for them! Above and beyond….. you have to try this restaurant!!!!!!!

Being latina, was excited to have found a Dominican restaurant in Carmel! Food was not bad, I think what I found ridiculous was I was charged for sides! So the pernil is 18 dollars with no sides? The chicken as well, I was charged 7 dollars for rice and beans. I was in a rush cause they were closing so I didn’t realize until I saw the bill in my car. Would have questioned it, perhaps it was a mistake but still, all of our entrees were charged for sides.

The food overall is good. Service is another story. We waited almost an hour for 8 chicken wings, a Caesar salad w shrimp and an order of fried plantains. I asked for our food twice. While we were waiting, someone came in and ordered a “mofongo with pernil”. He was served his food in about 10 minutes. This was incomprehensible to me. I got up and left. My friend stayed behind and asked again for the food, they offered to pack it to go, but they were taking too long so he ended up paying for his drinks and leaving the restaurant too. I was very happy to have a latino restaurant in town, but not with this type of service.
